Hope everyone's doing all right!

As far as work on Arbiter is concerned, things are still progressing normally. We ended up redesigning one of the characters as I felt their style didn't really fit in with the rest, but as for full character models, there's only about one left. I'll still be doing some revisions on a couple others, but we're almost there!

Anyways, I wanted to do something a little different for this update given everything going on in both the States and all over the world. I live in Canada, and even in my quiet little town we've been having protests. As a proud black man who's personally seen these injustices towards family, classmates, and myself, I wanna try and help spread awareness however I can, and figure this platform is my best way to do so.

There's way too many different charities, organizations, movements, and in general things you can do to help the #BlackLivesMatter movement, but I've put together a few of the more informative posts I've seen that stuck out to me the most.

Those include:

  • This is a pretty thorough list of different charitable organizations and bail funds you can donate to here.
  • These are some more general things you can do as a non-black person to support black people both now and in the future, here.
  • And this is comprehensive study on what actual police reform looks like, and what's been found to be effective/ineffective forms of stopping police violence, here.

In general, I would also encourage everyone to just enlighten yourselves on this topic before charging into hot-takes/protests. Make sure your message is clear and well informed so that the movement as a whole is held in high regard. There's too much ignorance and misinformation out there already, so it's important we all do our part to stay educated.

Anyways, I hope everyone is staying safe and keeping healthy. The reality is that this year's likely only going to get worse before it gets better, so I think it's important we all do our part to spread the word and make meaningful change however we can. Stay strong!  ✊🏾
