Ahoy!

I've decided I'm gonna start doing little monthly updates on here just quickly going over what I worked on that month. These will be separate from the Dev. Logs in which I break down a larger bulk of work in more detail.

This month (and next month probably) has been all about enemies. I spent September animating all of the remaining enemies for the game as well as some pick-up animations for the older enemies. I'm about half-way done implementing all of them into the actual game, though the smarter enemies and mini-bosses will probably take a little longer.

In general the process is going pretty well! Enemies reuse a lot of the player's effects (since the game is about stealing their abilities), so I've been able to finish one about every two days or so. I had to take a few days off since I got all four of my wisdom teeth taken out (which was fun), but I'm ramping back up again now. 

Once I'm all done I'm gonna write up another Dev. Log going over my process and I guess my goals with the AI in general. tl;dr I'm focused on the enemies showing off the ability they'll give to you while providing a decent challenge and cool back-and-forth moments. 

I'm thinking the enemies will take me to at least the end of November. Afterwards, I'll likely spend December doing some quick gameplay polish before I start character modeling in January. Still deciding whether or not I want to show that process off but we'll see when we get there!
