S6E08 Explained – update #1 (Patreon)

In the books, Arya seems emotionally damaged in ways that "will never feel any better". So it's hard to see her story ending with her returning to normal life, marrying some lord, and settling down as a noble lady.

This episode, she speaks of wanting to sail west of Westeros, which got me thinking – maybe, once all the wars are done, she'll get in a boat and sail off into the sunset... kind of like the end of Lord of the Rings – Frodo finds he cannot return to normal life, because "some hurts" "go too deep", and he sails west to the Undying Lands – kind of like heaven, a place of rest and healing.

Not saying this is likely to actually happen, but it's interesting to think about... Might bring it up in the video somehow.
