Am I the only one who was expecting Dawn vs Ice? Whats up with that?

Apparently Ned generally didn't use Ice in combat because it's so huge and unwieldy.. Dayne not having Dawn was kinda lame, but I guess a reasonable change given that most viewers wouldn't care about a funny-coloured sword..
