Watchmen and Daynes (Patreon)

The Watchmen video will be out in a week. It's been a really challenging project – this is our first video about a comic, rather than a book or TV show, so it's a different kind of storytelling to unpick, and the imagery needs a different kind of video production. Watchmen has heaps of intricate details and symbols and references to delve into, but this video focuses just on the central characters and themes. We always try to be 'objective' with Alt Shift X, but Watchmen is like a Rorschach test – everyone has a different subjective take on what it means. So hopefully you'll like our interpretation. The video's about the original 1986 comic – not the Watchmen movie or prequels – and it’s accessible, so you don’t need to have read the comic to understand the video. This video's pretty different to what we’ve done so far, can’t wait to release it!

The House Dayne video will be out in October. There are lots of different Dayne mysteries to explore – Arthur, Ashara, Dawn, ancient Daynes – and very little hard info to work with. So this’ll be a very speculative video.

After that, we’ll do more ASOIAF, maybe more Watchmen, His Dark Materials, Expanse, and whatever other cool stories are worth talking about 🙂
