Rhaegar update #2 (Patreon)

A big challenge of the Cersei video was that there's such a huge amount of content to cover with her – thousands of words from her POV and others, all throughout the series.

With Rhaegar, there's the opposite problem – despite his massive importance, Rhaegar is mentioned only occasionally throughout the series. The only really substantial bits we get about him are:

• Some memories from Ned in AGOT
• Dany's Undying vision in ACOK
• Barristan's descriptions of Rhaegar in ASOS
• Cersei's memories of Rhaegar in AFFC
• Aemon's talk of Rhaegar and prophecy in AFFC
• Description of Rhaegar's political machinations in TWOIAF

Each of these present a very different perspective on Rhaegar – and the challenge of this video is to fit these puzzle pieces together in a way that makes sense. Since there's so little textual evidence to work with, a lot of this will be guesswork and speculation.

There are a lot of cool possibilities. Did Rhaegar run off with Lyanna in an attempt to fulfil the Azor Ahai prophecy? Were Rhaegar and Lyanna in love? Did Rhaegar and Lyanna secretly marry? Was Rhaegar plotting to usurp his father King Aerys? Those are some of the questions we'll try to answer.

Hoping to finish this vid before Season 7 – if time runs out, maybe a release during S7 would make sense. Will keep you posted!
