"And what of my wrath, Lord Stark?"

This quote, to me, sums up so much of what Cersei Lannister is about. For years, she has felt intense needs for power, love, and status, but has been continually denied her heart's desires. In Feast, she thinks:

I waited half my life. She had played the dutiful daughter, the blushing bride, the pliant wife. She had suffered Robert’s drunken groping, Jaime’s jealousy, Renly’s mockery, Varys with his titters, Stannis endlessly grinding his teeth. She had contended with Jon Arryn, Ned Stark, and her vile, treacherous, murderous dwarf brother, all the while promising herself that one day it would be her turn.

While other characters in the series openly strive for crowns and honour and love and redemption, Cersei feels constrained, unable to act on her desires. Even in Feast, she's frustrated by the obstacles of politics, family, and finally the Faith. It's only in Season 6 of the show that we start to see Cersei's true form finally find expression – years of resentment and rage literally explode out from her in green wildfire, and she sits the Iron Throne in her own name, just as she dreams in Feast

She dreamt she sat the Iron Throne, high above them all. The courtiers were brightly colored mice below. Great lords and proud ladies knelt before her

Cersei's arc in TWOW won't be the same as in Season 6. But I think the basic idea will be the same – Cersei's wrath will take form, at long long last.

I'm working hard to complete a script that does justice to Cersei Lannister – aiming to have it done in a week.

Thanks!
