June: Cersei and Season 7 (Patreon)

Hey guys, there are two big priorities for Alt Shift X in June – the Cersei video, and preparing for Season 7.

The Cersei vid is a huge in-depth analysis of Cersei's past and future – her childhood and personality, Maggy's prophecy, and Cersei's likely final fate. The vid's been in limbo for months as I've tried to decide on aspects of the video's structure, and gotten distracted by smaller videos like the Knight of the Laughing Tree. But now it's time to finish Cersei once and for all, so I won't start any smaller videos until it's complete (unless another S7 trailer drops, but those breakdowns are pretty quick to make). This Cersei video is something I've been thinking about for years – will be really exciting when it's finally complete.

Also, GOT Season 7 is fast approaching – and as with Season 6, we'll be doing a weekly Episode Explained series. Last year, things got pretty crazy, making ten videos in ten weeks – doing that much labour in such little time wasn't really sustainable. So this year, thanks to your support, I'm working with a couple of video production assistants to help keep up with the weekly videos. Alt Shift X videos use a highly unconventional production style (with all the zooming/panning around a big composition), so it's tricky to develop a workflow for multiple people to work together. The upshot, though, is that the Season 7 videos will be produced more quickly and efficiently, without the need for so many crazy all-nighters – which can only be good for video quality (:
