Another Famimaga Video this week—nothing super spicy to be found here, but it does at least give you the opportunity to sample the contemporary response to the advent of CD-ROM technology with its PC Engine CD-ROM2 preview. I'm afraid the best the format had to offer at the outset was a barely enhanced port of the original Street Fighter and a game where you could look at digital photos of a flash-in-the-pan idol performer, though. Nothing to particularly curl the toes.

Famimaga Video 1989-07 [Issue 6] VHS Rip

A video rip of the sixth issue of Family Magazine's video companion series, which ran for a couple of years during the peak Bubble Economy days. There's a lot of "the usual fare" type material here, including multiple baseball games, SD Gundam, and so forth. But also some interesting and weird things, like the NES version of Willow, post-launch Game Boy coverage, and even a look at the true cutting edge of gaming with a preview of the incredible new PC Engine CD-ROM2. You may freely use portions of this video for your own work as needed! All I ask for my efforts in getting this material online is a small source credit in your video or footnotes.

CD-Rom Rom also had a Space Adventure Cobra game by then. But more exciting games would be coming to PC Engine CD by the end of 1989 like Ys Book 1 & 2.
