Well, it's happening. The big Game Boy World/Works change... which is going to be hard to get used to, I can tell — I even said "World" in the intro. Consider it a transitional episode.

This one is posting a little later than usual, partially because of Midwest Gaming Classic, but mostly because I needed to retool the graphics and presentation to reflect the new series. I'm really happy with the look, though! I hope you will be, too.

Skate or Die: Bad 'N Rad

Konami follows up on its popular NES conversion of EA skating sim Skate or Die with a game that has almost nothing to do with the source material aside from the use of skateboards. While not an entirely successful game, thanks largely to its memorization-heavy design, it is at least one of the more interesting original projects we've seen for the platform so far.

Is the nasty flicker of the water in the sewer level in the actual game? Or is that just due to Youtube compressing the video down to 30 fps?

It's in the game and uses screen refresh lag to create a transparency effect. And in fact you're seeing it because the video was posted at 60fps! At 30fps you either wouldn't see the water or it would look solid.
