Hi everyone,

I wanted to take a moment and quickly extend my sincere gratitude to everyone who supports (and continues to support!) my video projects. Your backing doesn't simply justify the enormous amount of personal time I invest in these, but it also makes possible the books that go along with the videos—I couldn't begin to track down all these complete Game Boy (etc.) games to record and republish without these funds, even with people's generous game loans and donations. Video game history isn't something many people care about, and I'm grateful to know enough people do believe in the approach I'm taking to allow me to help contribute to its preservation and analysis in some small way.

My video output has been a little slow lately due to a combination of (1) my recent projects being unusually large in length and scope and (2) my not having much free time due to work and personal obligations/crises. I'm hoping to maintain my weekly schedule through Sept. and Oct., but it could be a little tough as I will be traveling four times in the next two months, including one international trip... and my next few videos will also be epic in length. I'll give it my best effort, though!

On the plus side, everyone who supports at the book or PDF level can expect to receive Good Nintentions 1985 within the next three weeks. The final text and layouts are currently in the hands of our gracious copy editor Max Smith. Once I make his requested revisions and check out one last print sample, I'll start placing orders for everyone at the appropriate level. Be sure your mailing address info is up to date if you're a person for whom mailing addresses are important, and watch your inbox in case I need to clarify any details before shipping!

As a final thank-you before the month closes down, I've attached the bonus section of Good Nintentions 1985, which I'm calling "Nintendo Info 1983": A compact, comparative showcase of the Famicom's first year of games (made possible by the generosity of collector Steven Lin, who lent me his complete 1983/84 boxed Famicom library for documentation). This is the raw, unedited text, so please pardon any errors!  I thought you might enjoy seeing the new book's bonus supplement — which, incidentally, I'll be turning into a video as well pretty soon.

I'm really proud of this book, because I think both the comprehensive photography and the in-depth text make it a retrospective volume like nothing ever published before it. And when you see these packaging photos in print at full 8x10" size, they're pretty stunning. Anyway, as they say, please look forward to it, and thanks again!

I'm always impressed by the amount of work you put into each video. :)
