Thankfully, there wasn't too much to say about this particular game, so I was able to edit it together tonight in very short order. 

Sorry if I sound a little weird here — I lost my voice over the weekend, so I was really straining to project with this recording.

Good Nintentions #015: 10-Yard Fight [Irem/Nintendo, 1985]

The NES gets its very first rendition of American football - and on launch day, too! All thanks to Irem, who provide the second third-party Black Box title with this conversion of the arcade game by the same title. It's not a straight port, though, adding an entirely new aspect to the game, as well as a multiplayer mode.

Tecmo Bowl still has a community for the game today. They update the code every summer to insert the latest teams.

Never in my life would I have thought 10 yard fight would get such a thorough review. Cool. It's still interesting that Nintendo chosen these Irem arcade games for the black box treatment. It reminds me of how Sega released third party games with the SMS.
