Whoops! I almost forgot to post this. The, uh, devil made me (almost not) do it.

Only three games in this NES Works Gaiden compared to the eight last time around, but that's because two of these never made their way to the U.S. versus almost all of the first-party early ’84 titles. I did cover Devil World in passing a very long time ago on NES Works, but this is a proper review that, I think, better defines what it's about and why it's notable.

Really, though, the star of this episode is Galaxian, which sees Namco making its debut as a third party. There's a lot of history there...

Lode Runner / Galaxian / Devil World retrospective: Famicom ’84 some more | NES Works Gaiden #020

Another step along the Road to NES Works this week as we look again at the next round of software releases for Nintendo Famicom. Unlike last time, only one of these games made its way to the U.S. on NES, the other two (Galaxian and Devil World) seemingly being skipped over due to datedness and, uh, satanism? What was this, 2021? Video Works is funded via Patreon (http://www.patreon.com/gamespite) — support the show and get access to every episode up to two weeks in advance of its YouTube debut! And be sure to check out the Retronauts podcast (http://www.retronauts.com), where I (and many others!) tackle a much wider array of classic gaming topics each week.

Nintendo’s releasing Devils World tomorrow on NSO. Got to watch the NESWORKS Giaden episode.

Could you please do a retrospective of dragon warrior/quest? That seems like a series that needs to be covered sooner rather than later. 😊
