Hey guys!

I didn't want to put this text on the same post than Mai, so here's a few things I wanted to say about it!

New Experiments.

I decided to use Mai’s model to get the screenshots I needed for the book, so there might be a little disparity between the early screenshots and the current ones, so please bear with me on that one!

Also, I used this model as an experimental topic for the book, which is basically a new chapter about trying to reduce the details on Daz's textures in order to reduce the costs to a minimum. I kinda forced it into the Patron winner, but I know him, and I know he would agree because it was for a greater cause. It turned out pretty well imo.

Yeah, I know the title doesn’t make any sense with what I just said, but it needs some context: when I was getting the screenshots for the Material and Texture processes, I noticed something very interesting: this model has a lot of Spheres.

If you are familiar with MMD, these will look very familiar. They have the EMI prefix, which is short for, I assume, emmisive. As far as I know, there is no such a thing as emmisive thing, or at least not in the sense of these particular textures.

I don’t know how these can be used, but I want to figure that out and see if they can be used in any way, shape or form. For my eyes, they resemble to Cubemaps (which is the way, shape or form I don’t want to use them,) but I want to see how these textures affect the model, maybe figuring out how to apply them, and then see if it’s good for the model quality or not.

It should be fun. Keyword “should.”

A new kind of break.

You guys may not know this, but I changed my regular schedule to work on the book since in the past I used to work on it on my free time. Behind this, model work, research and testing, I think I did a bad decision, which was “Focusing on loot based games that have no end.” In my head, playing these will just mean I can play this at literally any moment with any character and any build and it won’t matter, while if I was playing a regular game, I will just stick to that game so I won’t forget where I was.

I’ve done this for the last 7 months. I enjoy the game, but there’s something off. I kinda miss beating a game. Because of that, I decided to play a game I actually love. It’s pretty much a cult game imo, but I truly enjoy it.

And in order to avoid any sort of hype or confusion, no, I'm not building any model based on this game.

==Can you guess what game is? Feel free to comment!==

That’s all for today! Take care and wash your hands!
