My only complaint with fairy tail is it’s timeline. For example, Sword, Hammer, and Sniper all look like they are in their late teens early twenties in zero. And yet about 100 years later they look like they are in their 40’s. Not to mention Makarov was born after them and now looks way older than them.

I love that we see Lucy not only develope as a person but a wizard too. If you go back to episode 48 she ask Gajeel if they won the fight between them and Laxus, not understanding how fights work. And before that how she ranked people in the guild before the Galuna island arc. Now she can tell by a glance.

To answer that bit at the end, this was the final episode of the initial run of the show. Next episode will be episode 1 of the "Final Season" so you'll notice a major animation change since a few years seperate this episode and next episode IRL. But yeah... now it's time for the final season and hopefully not long to go until we get an adaptation of the "Sequel"

It's pretty insane how Mavis magic was strong enough to sub-conciously create an illusion with it's own seperate personality, opinions, mannerisms etc. Even if it might also partly have been a reflection of the sides of Mavis that she hides (more cynical thoughts, negativity, etc).
