Make sure you guys watch Fairy Tail Zero next. It has important story points and it feeds right into the last season. Igneel said he could not defeat END because END was Natsu and he could not bring himself to kill him. What I am about to say does get explained in better detail in the final season but this is an explanation for ENDs true nature without spoiling in my opinion. Based on the information given, I believe that what I will say can easliy be inferred to. If you don't want to read it then ignore the rest of my comment. END is dormant inside his book and when END awakens Natsu must battle him but with his willpower. Either END wins and takes over or Natsu wins and stays in control of himself. That is what Zeref meant when he said you must defeat END.

If you guys recall when Laxus was trying to take out fairy tail in the beginning of the show when natzu tried to leave the building it said people over 80 couldn’t pass and natzu couldn’t pass the barrier nor gramps…..

266-275 are not filler in any sense of the meaning. It's Fairy Tail Zero and it sets up a lot of information you're going to want to know in the last Arc. Then 276 and 277 are the last episodes of this version of Fairy Tail which set up the premise for the last Arc. Then we had to wait 2 years if I recall for 278 onwards to start coming out because they wanted to wait for the manga to almost be completed. Then after that we'll get 100 year quest when we get it but last I checked is still ongoing in the manga

next arc, fairy tail zero, is NOT filler. there's a lot info that sets up the final arc/season of fairy tail. ALSO would love y'all to check out the one-shot filler episodes y'all skipped before this arc as well the movies /ovas!!

Bro, I gave a warning that it could be considered spoilers and they don’t have to read it if they don’t want too. Besides I believe I didn't spoil anything. What I said has been revealed already. END is dormant and END is Etherious Natsu Dragneel. If I did then tell me what it was and if it is spoilers then I will remove it. But as far I know I haven’t done so.

There is no more filler from this point onwards. It's all just canon arcs.

Yeah, the pacing wasn’t great for sure. The problem is that at this point they were catching up to the manga and had to find a way to slow things down—hence drawing this arc out with a lot of filler and recap scenes. I wish they’d just done a hiatus and waited for the manga to finish the arc. And now there’s Fairy Tail Zero!!! It’s not filler by any means—it’s a canon manga story! And you’ll need to watch it before heading into the final Fairy Tail arc, because there’s a lot of backstory about Mavis and Fairy Tail’s origins that will be important to know.

1: natsu: end... thats the guy igneel tried to defeat zeref: the person igneel COULDNT defeat, more accurately 2: zeref: "You or END will reach me" 3: the objective of the demons of the books of zeref is to be able to kill zeref. zeref when he met natsu at like episode 101 or smth: "You're still not strong enough to break me" 4: "END is a fire demon" 5: END is 400+ years old. In the Battle of Fairy Tail arc, Natsu couldn't get out of Freed's runes because no one over the age of 80 could pass

Second this yes pls go back and watch those episodes 202-204 and 219-226. First movie "Phoenix Princess" you can watch now but I would wait until after episode 284 to watch "Dragon Cry" since it has some spoilers

And yeah just like somebody else mentioned please go back and watch the episodes you skipped over (202-204 and 219-226) they're really fun and add more to the Fairy Tail world, you will enjoy:)

I hate how they nerf natsu every arc, he was clearly the strongest dragon slayer in the grand magic games becasue he was the only one to actually damage the dragons after, yet they make it seem as though he is weak and weaker than Laxus again.
