...It's supposed to be a pun on revised, not improvise, I promise.

But this week I was in a realllll creative slump. I couldn't work on anything, so I decided to do a small project I wanted to do since the original v13 release, which was to update the intro to current standards.

I don't blame you if you've never noticed, but the intro part that was at the Faraway Lodge changed -every- time Maria/nette appeared and or was heavily mentioned etc. The only time this didn't happen was with V13, because honestly that dev cycle was hell to begin with. v13.5, I just never found the motivation to properly do it... Until now!

One goal of this revamp was to bring that aforementioned changes into the game permanently. Because, well, the average player isn't going to know that this iteration of the intro was changed at any point to act as foreshadowing.

Now, with New Game+ code, I am able to check the contents of other save files, so I came up with a new format for the intro at the Faraway Lodge.

The intro at the lodge will be roughly 30-45 minutes to an hour long, however, parts of it will be gated behind progress in your main files. So for example, if this is your very first save file, you'll play that part until lock 1 appears, and then it will skip to the ending of that entire sequence; which is when Maria wakes up in that chamber with the mirror, which looks like this now btw:

I've made this handy visual chart as guidance. There aren't necessarily 3 locks, it's just an example.

If you played the intro and don't have the requirements for Lock 1, then you skip to the end. If you have the reqs for Lock 1, you can play that small segment. If you don't have Lock 2, you'll skip to the end-- And so on. To play the full segment of the intro, you must have a completed v14 file. And yes, I did say to play the -full- segment. That's right, the final rendition of the intro is done in this version. Make use of that implication what you will.

Those that finish the full intro segment on a NG+ file will find a small little prize waiting for you... (Also, on subsequent NG+ files, you'll be able to skip the intro and still gain the NG+ reward). I'm not sure what that reward is yet, but I have a few ideas ! Either way I think playing through the entire thing at least once is -very- worth it, especially for LORE lovers.

I won't show everything in the intro because I want it to be a surprise, but here's a cool little door I made :3.

But that's all for this week! Thank you guys SO much for supporting me, and I hope you have a wonderful week :). I'll need some more time before my next post, so I'll probably skip next week, buuuuuut, we'll see. <3.
