I've been working on GDC recently and one thing that's always bugged me about this area is how... Empty it felt. Like, there are a lot of NPCs that say gibberish, but the city (at least to me) never felt like a crowded city. Old essentials cant handle too many events or it lags. RMXP can handle a lot without lagging but the thought of eventing all those NPCs makes my skin crawl. So... I've come up with a not so clever way to disguise my laziness. lol

Introducing (ghost) crowds!

So, why am I calling them "Ghost Crowds"? Well, it's because these NPCs don't actually exist. It's actually one huge image on one event. Lemme explain:

For example, the NPCs circled in pink are fake. They are not real. They cannot hurt you. They cannot see you. They cannot talk to you, but they are There.

Whenever there's a big crowd like this in a section or whatever, it's most likely a ghost crowd. Now, this is all pretty much nothing to write home about, but it's important to me because the city actually feels lived in and that was one of my biggest personal gripes. I BEAT RPGMAKER. No I didn't lol. It still yells at me daily. It's ok.

Oh, and I guess I never introduced the area showcased in that last image? Well, do you remember this map?

Well, it's gone. Sorta. The map has been turned into a back alley that's filled with artists that turn the street into tile art. Rhodea's office is here as well!

GDC is coming out really well and I only have one more district to map! That being the District of Hope. Once, I finish that up, GDC will be brand spankin new and cleaned up.

Also have an old train gif of the subway. I already adjusted the tracks but going to get a new gif also made my skin crawl.

But that's it for now! Thank you so much for supporting me and have a great week!
