V13's Story Structure (SPOILERS) (Patreon)

V13's story is vastly different than other versions. It's very non-linear.
But what do I mean by non-linear? What makes this version different than previous? Well... allow me to show you!
This is how it works:

As you can see, the story starts off as usual,  but then eventually sections off into four parts. As shown by the diagram, the player can pick to play either Erin or Melia's route in any order. The player's route will then be unlocked when both those paths have been completed. 

Once all the tapering routes have been concluded, it all knots itself back into one timeline once again. V13 wasn't originally going to be like this, but I felt like this was necessary to tie things together.

So, this begs the question. How long are each respective segments?
Well, they vary. But let's assess how each chapter is structured. 

Each chapter in Rejuv has a structure similar to this.  However, since these are different stories portioned off into segments, they all have their separate progression through the plot. 

Each route in the graph shown above has their own version of this chart. To make these segments feel satisfying, fun, and engaging, I basically have to make them as substantial as every other chapter in the game. That doesn't necessarily mean in length, though. I'd say each one is about 60% of a normal chapter. But even then, one could say I've been working on 5 different versions at once.(I count both green boxes to be the same.)

So if you're wondering what in the heck is taking v13's story so long... Now you know! It's a lot of work, but I'm truly happy with how it's progressed so far. To give you a nice in depth view of how far each has come:

Remember that I count the two green boxes as the same path. Conversely, I treat Aelita and the player's branches to be different, despite having the same color. Why? I ain't tellin.
