While going back and polishing up older content, I decided that this would be a good time to add more interactivity. What type? Puzzles of course! While there are a few new puzzles at the Chrysalis Manor, there's one in particular I want to talk about.

That one is this: (Rip Marianette's poolside.)

The object of this puzzle is to get both pins to land on the blue spaces simultaneously. When moving, both pieces will move in the same direction. If one piece can no longer move, but the other can, the first piece will remain still while the other one will move in a specified direction. You can use this to line up your pins so that they can both land on the blue spaces at the same time. Lastly, if both of the pieces come into contact, the pieces explode and you must restart.

Getting this to work correctly... HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Alright, so I'm not really that great at making functional puzzles. It's the reason why I haven't made that many. My brain just isn't wired well to make them effectively. Sad. Anyway HHHHHH. Okay.

Getting both pieces to move together was the easy part. Getting the pieces to not get stuck in between stages? HELL. At first I marked each pin as "through" which means they're intangible. But because of this, pieces could fly off the map and into Narnia. HELL.

My solution to this was to take the X and Y coordinates of each events so that when they overlap, they would explode. But this didn't work because since they're both solid, they can't be on the same tile. I can't set them to "through" otherwise their movements arent limited and can fly to the fucking moon and back. HHHHH.

So what I had to do was take the coordinates of every possible corner where a piece MAY be stuck in the middle due to another piece already occupying a spot. In this case, it would look like the piece collides with another and explodes.

There are three variants of this puzzle so I had to do this three times. THREE TIMES. THERE ARE A LOT OF SPOTS TO COVER. It was so tedious and painful lol.
But it works fine now and I'm really happy. It's a bit easier than I wanted it to be but I'm learning.

After completing a puzzle, as usual, you can go and free a soul from Indriad's clutches.

I have another puzzle idea for the base underneath Wispy Tower. I don't have any pictures of this as it has not been worked on yet, but the concept of this puzzle is also pretty simple.

(Not the actual puzzle, just an example)

The objective of this puzzle is to get the gold piece to land on the blue piece. When you choose a direction, the gold piece will keep moving in that direction until it comes into contact with a wall or another module. At the moment, you have to get the gold piece at the end in under 3 turns, but originally I wanted to make it so  that hitting a wall causes the puzzle to fail, but :').... HELL. I want to make this a little more interesting. Perhaps tiles on the floor that cause the piece to move in another direction? warps? Something... idk.

If any of you have any cool puzzle concept ideas... Please hit ya boy up cause man... I am so bad at conceptualizing and actually implementing puzzles. It's a struggle, but it's something I really want to improve in.

That's all for this week! Thank you guys for supporting me! I've gotten so many new supporters this month and I am so grateful. 🥺🥺Thanks for sticking with me-- Even in this hell year, lol. I hope you guys have a safe and wonderful week <3.

Oh also! As of today (8/15/2020), I will be on break until next week Sunday! (8/23/2020)! For my Discord Patrons, we will have our second movie night on that same day! The movie hasn't been decided, but expect a poll to pop up by Monday :).

Enjoy the break Jan! Not really one for coming up with puzzle ideas but it's often cool when there are ones that utilise different Pokemon like the Espeon/Glaceon and Tauros/bouffalant ones in Reborn. Really spices things up even if it's a generic block or lock and key puzzle. Think it's also cool when they're introduced gradually and then mixed up and combined to make it more interesting. You might have seen it already but this video goes over it really well https://youtu.be/JqHcE6B4OP4 Hope you're keeping well!

Found this when reading old posts! If you're still looking for puzzle ideas you can look up world puzzle championships, they're pretty cool :P

Also if you want more simple puzzles, there is a book named 'To mock a mockingbird' on logic puzzles, you might like that too :D
