Mini Gen 8 Q/A (Also other general updates) (Patreon)

You asked, I shall answer! Today's post will be a Q/A! Let us begin:

Q: Will there be Dynamax/Gigantamax Content?

• No, Dynamaxing will not be a feature. However, on the topic of Gigantamaxing-- We thought that not using the GMAX forms would be a waste. So, instead, we're converting GMAX forms into custom Mega Evolution. Details on this have not yet been discussed, but that's the roadmap going forward.

Q: Will you implement the new berry tree mechanic?

• As of right now we have no plans to implement this mechanic.

Q: How will you be handling the movesets of Pokemon that were not in SWSH?

• Well, thankfully, because of Home being datamined, Pokemon that did not appear in SWSH have gotten updated movesets Although, at this time, these seem to be incomplete. So we'll probably just wait for things to come out before we go editing movesets. That being said, In the event that Pokemon come out with no additional changes, we will not be compensating them.

Q: How is the wider distribution of terrain surge abilities going to be handled?

• This one was a tough decision, but ultimately we didn't want to push back mons like Pincurchin back to places they really don't belong. All because of a single ability. As of right now, we've decided to nerf Terrain changing moves, and surge abilities. Specifics of these changes have not been discussed fully, but we're looking into turning them into what they are in canon, rather than produce a full fledged field. 

Q: Now that Gigantamax Pokemon are being turned into Megas, does that mean Charizard will have three of them? Does this mean Pikachu and Eevee will both have one too?

• Yes, Charizard will (unfortunately) have three megas. Originally I wasn't going to include Pikachu or Eevee, but........... Pikachu's Gmax cry.... I must have it in game. And therefore I must let Eevee in as well. That's just how the cookie crumbles.

Q: Not counting legendaries, will all Gen 8 Pokemon be available upon release?

• I cannot say as we don't have their general locations all figured out, but probably not. Although we are slowly getting towards the end of the game so in the next few versions (literally 2), all non-legendary Pokemon will be available. So even if a certain mon isn't in now, it'll be available soon. 

Q: Will there be a Pokemon Camp/Amie feature? 

• As of right now we have no plans for this. These features are typically unbalanced, and I don't think there's a huge need for something like it. Maybe in the future, but pretty unlikely.

Q: Any new field changes and/or Field Effects?

• Yes. A new field will be appearing in V13 for sure. As for general changes, there's a lot, so I won't be listing them here. They're mostly just updated with new Gen 8 abilities/moves.

Q: Will any Gen 8 Pokemon become Signature Mons for main characters?

• So I'm sure everyone is jumping on the Toxtricity train for Venam, and while she will definitely be getting one on her team, it won't be her ace. Seviper isn't as good, but it's been her staple for so long that it feels wrong to remove it. I also have plans for her Seviper later down the line.

Q: Will Calyrex be a main character?!?

• Absolutely!!!!! Not.

----General Questions----

Q: Where are the streams you promised?

• So, I've wanted to stream for a while! But... there's a problem. It seems like my ISP has been throttling my internet for the past few months. Especially at night. I can barely even use Discord without my voice lagging out or what have you. I've done private test streams to see how my stream health would look like, and it's... bad. It's unwatchable. I don't really have the option to switch either. So... I won't be able to hold a consistent stream for who knows how long. I'm stuck.

 Q: I heard you've been feeling unwell these past couple of months. Have things improved?

• D R A S T I C A L L Y. I can actually function now, lol. Good timing too. My life has gotten so much busier lately. Phew.

Q: Will you still be posting Patreon posts every week?

• This wasn't actually a question someone asked, but it's something I probably need to bring up? Right now, there's not much I can really post about since a lot of it involves small things that aren't worth discussing. And if I'm being honest, one week isn't enough time for me get enough done as of right now. As a result, Patreon Posts will become bi-weekly from here on out. Once I start hitting side quests and other miscellaneous things, I'll return to weekly posts. That being said, whenever something big happens or is complete, I may return to weekly posts temporarily to speak about it! I know I said even giving small updates would be appreciated, but I feel like the quality of those posts aren't what I want them to be.
