This one is a ramble, I apologize, but... Here it is!!

I've been planning out exactly what's going to be put in Route 4's encounter list.All the benefits that I've mentioned before still stands as of this moment. If you

missed what those benefits are, I'll do a short recap:

"Everything in the Reservoir has scaling:

  • Levels
  • Exp growth
  • IV's
  • Shiny Rate
  • Money Gain"

And how has that planning gone? Well, absolutely terrible, lol. Trying to come up with a roster that's unique and balanced enough, is difficult. It's fun! But difficult, and stressful. A lot of it comes down to "Will this mon break the game" and a lot of mons have the capability of doing so, which is very annoying.

I also have to think about which mons are set in each section (Each corner of the map has its own set of unique mons that can appear. Not only that, but since there's no real map of this area, the player can't fly around freely, which sucks but we always have in game events for that.

Annnnddd on top of allll of that juiciness, I have to think about the event count for lag. I want this place to have a lot of overworld presence, but also be playable, lol.
From what I've heard from others, RMXP doesn't lag with events-- Only Essentials does. Which is. so annoying. But it's the cards I've been dealt so I gotta be smart about it.

There's... Also something else I've working on and working out the details of, but I think I'll just leave you with this.

As for Gen 8, things have been going slowly but surely. New mechanics are STILL being discovered, 3 weeks after the game's release. Which is honestly insane to me. That aside, I went Feral this week and went ahead and implemented the in game internal data for: Pokemon moves, items, and abilities. 

All that's left is to leave that up to the scripters actually giving these things functionality. Which is honestly, the more difficult part of the job. 

...Speaking of more difficult parts of the job, all of the Pokemon's internal data has also been done. That means all that we have left to do is gather and create Sprites for battle. We've been gathering free to use sprites from all around, but some of them need work, and they all need backsprites. Which I am sincerely not happy about, but it's something I expected to tackle from the beginning
