“You’ll figure it out when you’re older.” Chelsey said in a snarky tone. Anna scoffed then rolled her eyes.
“What are you talking about!? I’m smart enough to figure this out! Why don’t you just explain it better?” Anna said, pointing toward her homework. Chelsey, sitting right next to Anna, pulled up from her chair.
“Well if you’re going to act like that, then I’m certainly not helping you. I’m not wasting my time with someone who isn’t old enough to understand pre-calc. It’s really not that hard, Anna.” Chelsey said, walking toward the doorway before stopping to turn back around.
“Shut up! You’ve been saying that to me my whole life! I’m clearly smart enough, I’m taking this a whole year earlier than you did in high school!” Anna retorted back. Chelsey wasn’t phased by her little sister’s defense.
“Actually, you’re only taking it one semester ahead of when I did, and I aced it. Never had any trouble. If you’re going to act like a little kid and insult me like that, at least have the facts to back it up.” Chelsey said. “Don’t come back to me for any help. You’re on your own. Have fun failing! Maybe if you’re lucky you’ll graduate on time with your friends. Otherwise you’ll wind-up finishing school with the grade below you.” Chelsey seethed, turning around at the end. She started walking down the hall. “Where you belonged long ago…” She said, loud enough for Anna to hear it.
“You’re a bitch!” Anna yelled back.
“Yupp, get used to it!!” Chelsey yelled back, now down the hall.
“Ughh!” Anna yelled out in frustration. She threw her pencil at the table. It ricocheted off her homework, then tumbled to the floor. Anna placed her face into her hands. She had just enough emotional control to stop angry tears from falling..
Unfortunately, this wasn’t an uncommon interaction between Anna and her big sister as of late. Ever since Chelsey moved back home after college, she had been nothing but mean and gritty to her little sister. Anna reasoned it was because Chelsey still hadn’t found a job yet, and she was taking out her frustration on her. Whatever the reason, Anna was at her wits end. She knew her self-worth. No one deserves to be treated like this.
“She is such a bitch now. ‘You’re going to act like a little kid.’ What a horrible thing to say to me. This stuff is hard! I’m allowed to struggle with it.” Anna thought, she sat back up in her chair. She leaned back and looked up at the ceiling. She tried to let her frustration go; however, this wasn’t an isolated incident. Her interactions with Chelsey were only getting worse. “I can’t keep going on like this. I need to punch her in the face or something.” She thought.
“How could I do that? When she’s not paying attention I could wallop her…. That might not work in the end... She is bigger and stronger than me. I probably couldn’t take her in a fight…” Anna thought before continuing, “This is messed up. I shouldn’t even be thinking like this. She’s my big sister! She’s supposed to be my role model. Someone that I look up to. Not this constant dark cloud of negativity.” She pondered. Anna pushed her toes off the ground and spun around in her chair. Whatever she did, it couldn’t continue like this.
“Ever since she got back it’s like she’s the queen, and whatever she says goes. I need to take her down a level. Her self-image is sky high.” Anna thought, her chair slowed to a stop. Her back was to the desk, she was facing her bed.
“I could put dye in her shampoo. She’s so obsessed with her self-image now. How would she like walking around with pink hair?” She thought, her mind mulled it for a moment, but that didn’t feel right either. What if she liked having pink hair? She could just bleach it then dye it back anyways.
“Act like a little kid.” Ran through Anna’s mind again. It dug at her deep. She was never seen as Chesley’s sister. She was always Chelsey’s baby sister.
Anna eyes remained focused on her bed. Her mind was quiet for a moment… before erupting.
“Wait!!” Anna thought, standing up from her chair. “That’s it!!” She said out loud. She walked up to her bed. “If she’s going to act like the big sister, how would she feel to be the little one? What if…” Anna thought, running her hand across her blankets, “…Chelsey developed a little problem. What if she became the little bedwetter? That’s perfect! She wouldn’t be able to give me shit when I could point at her wet bed sheets…” Anna thought. She felt the idea already running away in her mind.
It was perfect. Anna had knew about the ‘hand in warm water’ trick just like everyone else. She could sneak into her sisters’ room at night, dip her hand in, and watch her leak into the sheets. When she was finished, she would take the bowl back, and she’d never know. It was genius. How can you rib on your little sister when you’re the bedwetter in the first place?
“But what if I make her into a real bedwetter because of it?” Anna thought for a moment. It was a valid point. Would she feel bad about her sister developing a genuine bedwetting issue? She’d have to deal with this for potentially the rest of her life.
She didn’t dwell on it for long.
“That’ll be her problem. She’ll just have to stop acting like a little kid.” Anna thought. She turned around and hopped back into her desk chair. She needed to do some research. Her fingers were typing the moment her laptop booted up.

Anna pressed her ear closer to the wall. She hadn’t heard her sister rustle for over thirty minutes. She smiled, then started walking toward the hallway.
“She has to be asleep at this point. It’s 3 AM. She’s also smoked enough weed today to kill a small horse. There’s no way she’s waking up.” Anna thought, she felt the cool tile of her kitchen floor moments later. She scuttled over to the cabinet, opened it, and pulled out a large salad bowl. She turned the faucet, warm water started draining out into the bowl. Anna made sure it wasn’t too hot where it’d scorch her sisters hands, but not too cold and it wouldn’t do the trick. The gentle steam wafted from the surface.
“Should I microwave it?” She thought, watching the water line rise close to the top. She turned the faucet off. “Meh, this should probably be warm enough. It said online if it was too warm, it’d wake her up. God only knows what she’d to me if that happened…”
That idea caused a pang of anxiety. Anna hadn’t considered that point yet. If this didn’t work, and her sister found out, it’d be total hell for her. Was it worth the risk? This could easily backfire. All Chelsey had to do was stir in the wrong direction, and she could knock over the bowl, spilling warm water all over her.
Anna chewed on the risks for the moment, as she carefully tried not to step on the creaky parts of the floor. She felt like she couldn’t go back now. She was already holding the bowl of water. She was mere steps away from her sister’s door.
“If it’ll shut her up and give me the power I deserve, then screw it. She’s pissing her bed tonight.” Anna thought, her feet stopped right at Chelsey’s door. Anna carefully placed the bowl on the floor. Her left hand gripped the knob, and slowly started to twist.
Her heart started to pound. She was worried the sound of the knob would wake her sister. Knowing that was silly, Anna started to press her body weight into the door. She knew her sister’s door liked to creak, so she moved at a snail’s pace. The smell of weed and cheap perfume wafted into her nose from the opening crack.
Anna had the door open roughly six inches at this point. Her plan was working well. Until the hinges let out a scratchy creek.
“SHIT.” Anna thought. She stopped moving the door instantly.
“Mrmwhmm…” Chelsey muttered, she shifted around in her bed. Anna filled her lungs with a huge sigh of relief. Luckily for her, the fan blowing in the room offered some protection to the creaky door.
Anna pushed the door open a couple more inches. She was thin enough to squeak through the door once it was a foot ajar. She bent down and softly wrapped her hands around the still warm bowl. Standing back up, her feet tiptoed through the doorway, and into her sisters’ room.
She could barely see where she was going. The only light she had was from the dull night light beaming in from through the crack in the door. Anna opened her eyes wide to get in as much light as she could. She knew her sister was a slob and left everything on the floor. She stayed steadfast even after stepping on a prickly hairbrush. She was in too deep. There was no going back at this point.
Her sister’s nightstand sat directly next to her headboard. Anna felt around for the surface. Once she found it, she placed the bowl on top of it. Gently, so as not to make a sound. With the bowl in place, she placed her fingertips at the edge of the bed. She ran them slowly over her sister’s blanket, until she felt Chelsey’s stiff arm.
“Here we go…” She thought, she brought her hand up toward her sister’s wrist. Anna’s fingers lightly pinched her wrist. Just tight enough so she could lift her hand up. She guided her limp hand over to the bowl. She moved incredibly slow. This way she didn’t wake Chelsey but didn’t overshoot the bowl either.
Chelsey’s hand hovered over the bowl. Anna slowly dropped it in. Her fingertips touched the surface. The water was still pleasantly warm. Her fingers descended into the bowl. Then finally, her hand fully submerged underwater. Anna turned her head and leaned in close to the bed. She slowed her breathing to hear better. From what she read online, the amount of time it took varied by person.
“Hmrmw..?” Chelsey muttered. Anna stopped herself from whispering a gasp.
The unmistakable sound of liquid trickling emanated from the bed. It started light at first, but slowly grew into a full bladder’s worth of pee dumping into Chelsey’s sheets. Chelsey didn’t stir from her sleep. Her bed grew wet and warm in her own puddle of pee. The strong smell of urine hit Anna’s nose.
“Someone hasn’t been drinking enough water… That’s going to be one pee stained bed…” Anna thought. She felt a deviant smile grown on her face. She couldn’t wait until morning to see how her sister was going to react. This felt like justice. Chelsey deserved to be a bedwetter.
To Chelsey, she was having the most pleasant dream. She was swimming around with friends in a bubbly hot tub. She had to pee, but who cared? She was in a hot tub anyways. She could just let go. That’s exactly what she did. She quickly stopped paying attention and continued chatting with her friends. In reality, she was sinking into her soaked bed.
“Looks like someone wet their bed…” Anna mused to herself, as she picked up her sisters’ hand and placed it back in the bed. She snatched the bowl right after. “Hopefully this doesn’t happen tomorrow night, or the next…. Or the next one after that…” She thought, already knowing the answer to that.
“She might need to invest in some protection soon.” Anna thought, before slipping back out into the hallway. She closed the door behind her.
