Meanwhile, in 1808... early Stalingrad? Not quite, but a very modern siege.

This was good fun, though the maps were a pain. Turns out finding good maps of a relatively obscure siege is tough! Who would have thought? My main source was Oman's History of the Peninsular War (definitely worth a read), my main worry is that the account of the siege follows his narrative a little too closely but at the same time... it's literally history.

In other news, I have the next Scottish Corridor done and in the pipe (yay, Panthers now) and I'm about halfway through the following Unit Guide (hope you like HMMWVs).

This sudden burst of productivity, plus the rolling shorts content, is leading me to consider changing up the Patreon a little. The shorts are (comparatively) quick and easy to produce and therefore pretty reactive- it shouldn't be too difficult to take requests, which would make for a nice Patreon bonus.

How to integrate that kind of bonus is another question. Another tier is one option, though I like the simplicity of a single tier. It's also an opportunity to change things up, maybe switch to a simpler monthly rather than per-video model that would help mitigate Patreon's processing fees (TLDR: apparently, Patreon's fee is 33% at $1, but 18% at $2, so $1 twice a month is less than $2 once a month).

I'd love to know what you guys think- and what you'd like to see get blown up by what in a short ;)

Learned a lot from this one. Napoleonic warfare is not my forte, so I rather enjoyed your analysis of this siege. There are elements to it that lend itself to warfare nearly a century and half later. The whole Stalingrad aspect as you point out, and also the idea of operations as interdependent. That last was a weaker link but still there. By WWII it was a foundational concept among some militaries. Regarding your subscription options, it would make sense to offer a $2/month fee to take advantage of Patreon's processing fee arrangement. I would have no issue switching to that myself.
