Frank was referring to the Chappaquiddick incident when Senator Ted Kennedy drove off a bridge with his hot secretary in his car. Kennedy was able to get out of the car, but the woman drowned. Kennedy didn't report the accident until the next day, and he was only charged with leaving the scene of an accident.

never had coq au van but i know it translates to "cock with wine" lol traditionally they used older roosters for the dish and the meat tends to be tougher so the "cocks" need to be slowly braised in the wine sauce for a long time

Sorry for your loss. Interesting note about this episode: You may recall back when the gang bought a boat that Frank said he doesn't sink, he just floats like a cauliflower. That's actually true, and they had to weigh him down to film the underwater scenes. I believe at one point when Kaitlyn Olson was swimming up she accidentally kicked Danny in the face and he was furious and that was basically the end of their filming for the scene, lol (if memory serves correctly, unless that was another incident).
