I enjoyed your reaction! Honestly though, the episode I'm REALLY excited for is 7x6! In my opinion, that's the best episode of this season, if not one of the best episodes of the series overall

Henchman Twenty1

Awesome fake-out at the beginning there. I love how the Monarch has the renovation crew dressed as his new henchmen. Judging by the charring on the uniforms I'm guessing none of the original henchmen survived when the cocoon burnt down. 21's references while in the flying car are from Dune, likely the 1984 movie version.

For those who don't know, Kate Jackson was an actress (she's retired now) who played one of the original Charlie's Angels from the TV show. Meow! I think Professor Von Helping is seriously underrated as a mere level 5 protagonist. He is voiced by Gary Cole who also voiced Harvey Birdman attorney at law among many other voices and live action roles.

Yeah 21 references David Lynch's Dune specifically. This is him: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/4/48/PiterDeVries-Brad_Dourif.jpg

Love the disgusting call back with the Q-tip in the ehh spidey-hole? Doc told Orpheus in season one that you could do something similar with your cat when it's in heat, Orpheus had already tried it an regretted it immensely. Which apparently is based on something Doc Hammer did in real life, with similar result I imagine.

I guess the fact that Von Helping isnt really interested in the cat and mouse games, doesn't have a base or a lair, or a big tower, no henchmen and he's legitimately just a teacher. I mean yeah he is completely invulnerable and can shoot explosive beams from his hands, but level 5 seems right. Edit: Just thought of something else, the Guild might not have known how powerful he really was, because there was nothing about it mentioned in the file they gave to the Monarch

I wish Gary Cole would have been a regular part of this show. I love every character he ever does. Hopefully Prof von Helping will be in the movie. Also, in case it isn't clear or anyone has forgotten, Tosh Tompkins, the guy who was subbing for Prof Nidaba's philosophy class, is Stars and Garters, the guy who was singing at Nidaba's bedside. It's kind of weird that Nidaba is still in the hospital, since he got run over by Battleaxe way back in episode five of last season. I guess he's in a persistent coma or something. Anyway, glad to see you back. It's sad that we're getting near the end of VB, but there are a lot of good episodes left.

Yes, that is a very funny one. My favorite, aside from the opening trilogy, is 7x8. Mostly due to a certain badass scene that is... right on TRACK.

Will Fly

Professor Von Helping was modeled after astrophysicist Carl Sagan.

That wrist blade thing that Dr. Z has is likely taken from the movie 'Marathon Man' as used by the main antagonist. Yes, there have been other characters in film, television and video games to use one, but as this show has referenced that movie a number of times (including an upcoming episode) I'm betting the reference is from there. P.S.: Don't watch it if you have an upcoming dentist appointment! "Is it safe?" [Chills]
