I Left this comment on someone who reacted to this episode a few days ago on YouTube. Did pretty well there, so will copy/paste it here, has some additional context: In an interview shortly after Seth MacFarlane was asked if he was going to hit them back. He said something to the effect that they’d like to, but it wasn’t really a fair fight since they turn their episodes around in a week, and it’s takes them months. The language he used was: they’d be firing at us with machine guns vs our muskets. There’s a long history of Matt and Trey crapping on family guy, they made it clear that, no, this isn’t a friendly jab thing, they DO NOT like that show. They also said the Simpsons writers sent them flowers, and the king of they hill writers said they were “doing god’s work”. (Yes, a South Park episode is made in 6 days start to finish. There’s a great 40 minute documentary about it called “6 days to air”. It’s shot during an episode you haven’t gotten to yet, so maybe wait, but it’s almost mandatory viewing for South Park fans! Incredible how they pull it off)
