Teal'c's like, "Oh, these pasty mo-fos coming into MY HOUSE...?? NAH. I didn't save this planet for a full decade just to have these fools waltz in." I love that they could've just done a fun little crossover episode. But no. They had to play their "Wraith incursion in the SGC" card. And it was perfectly done. Well, no, perfect would've been all of SG-1 waiting on the other side. But in terms of what was possible... perfect.

Ba'alWhale34

Fail the wraith don't be killing people they want to eat them!

Stef Furness

I think this might be my favorite SGA

Geonn Cannon

Back after finishing the reaction, I DEFINITELY feel the same way about this one. Not just one of the best of SGA, but one of the best Stargate episodes from the franchise. It's solid, start to finish, and I'm amazed at how much they packed into a single episode without feeling forced or rushed. I really, really hope Kavanaugh gets in a huge amount of trouble for destroying Midway. I mean, my god.

Retro Tom

I didn't like them getting rid of the Midway station so soon after it had been finished, it barely got any use. Other then that everything else about this episode is outstanding As for who would win in a fight between Ronan & Teal'c, Ronan maybe be younger & faster, but Teal'c has far more experience & discipline so I certainly wouldn't count him out. An old saying is "Age & experience will be Youth & exuberance any day"

It’s fairly obvious in the sparring that T is barely trying. Just look at the way he nosells the sucker punch to get a feel for how big the skillgap between “soldier who ran from the wraith for a few years” and “guy who was groomed from birth to be the single greatest warrior of a 100% warrior culture with 3-5x ronon’s entire lifespan in pure combat experience” is.

Flufux

I think this episode has the most 'indeed's out of the entire Stargate franchise. I'm not 100% sure about that, but if it isn't, it has got to be in at least top 3.

David Gipe

I agree. I thought it odd myself. Kinda felt like we finally got a persistent boon in a while from own own hands (well I guess based on ba'al\nerus) only for it to get blown up. That being said it is a fun episode. :)

Martin Nicholls

It's a good episode. Not just a flying visit from Tilc either. Pretty violent for a Stargate episode though basically all the victims of that violence are aliens, but there's a fairly large on screen body count by standards - in fact it's fairly violent for practically any science fiction TV show of it's era. These days it's extremely tame, but back then it was frowned-up to an extent.

Hok'Tar

The guy that plays Kavanaugh is in the BSG movie "Blood and Chrome", which is the best of the 3 BSG movies. You wouldn't think it but his acting in that movie is fantastic.

Daryl

The toe to toe, head to head, co-op, team up mission that everyone was waiting for! Yes, indeed it was.

Timothy Nikiforovs

What an awesome episode. Teal'c and Ronon is just too obvious a team up not to explore at least once. I also liked that they devoted a few scenes to Ronon and John's friendship. Their dynamic is totally "best buds in 5th grade", from that juvenile "I hate you" to messing with Sheppard in his sleep, and John still being glad to see someone who doesn't annoy him despite that. It did suck though that they finally got Midway finished and then lost it right away. I'm OK with it only because we got such an awesome episode out of it. Technically I suppose they could rebuild the station. The 2 gates onboard should be floating in space, and the rest of the network is still up, though there are obvious security issues that need to be addressed first. The most obvious would be to have irises on Midway 2.0 rather than just assume it's secure, but also plant a space gate somewhere in Pegasus as the first link rather than use a planetary gate the wraith can figure out is part of the system just by being close to that edge of the galaxy. And fuckin Kavanaugh. They just had to bring him back to screw things up one more time. With Bates just recently, they're getting all those early SGA throwbacks out of the way. Bates grew as a person though, Kavanaugh not so much. Also always great to see Walter and Lee show up. Shame none of the other SG1 mains made cameos. Jack is in Washington, so wouldn't likely be o the base right at that moment, but Landry, Mitchel, Vala or Daniel would have been welcome additions to the episode. Guess they wanted to focus down on Teal'c. Coolidge is...........well he's a dick, but not entirely unfair. I think the fact Ronon was willing to stay and risk being nuked or eaten by the wraith rather than run, all for people he doesn't know in a place he's only been to a couple times which is a galaxy away from his home really sold to him that this is the kind of guy you want on the front lines. Repelling the invasion of the SGC was basically his interview. Also while the zat cameo was cool, I really do wish they'd had Teal'c bring the classic staff weapon. It's his signature weapon(or was for a long time) and while I love Teal'c being jealous of Ronon's particle magnum, I would have loved to see wraith going down to staff blasts. 10/10 episode

Thomas Menard

Oh man the bsg movies are so mediocre but also very interesting. The content is good the budget was whack.

Dincorta

I've been excited to see your reaction to this one. One of the best for sure.

brad hawkes

LFG!!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Top 3 Episode Ranking. only thing that bothered me was Shep getting that space suit on before suffocating and no iris(s) at Midway, poor planning guys, little arrogant thinking noone could ever hack the macro haha

hello everyone happy early spring any know if failwhale is okay I have refreshed the patreon and youtube channel every day for the last 7 days and hoping for a update on whats going on . I checked his facebook and twitter and instagram but seems no update there either. I a little worried don't know if he is on vacation or sick or in hospital . p.s. any one know if he has any new social media place that he updates on that i am missing thanks all. hoping every thing is okay in failwhale land ! lol

Timothy Nikiforovs

It's nothing new. There's been a downward spiral of decreasing content output for over a year. Stargate and buffyverse used to be immune, then Buffy wasn't, and now SG is lagging too. Might cancel my sub soon and go to a binge every few months model.

Joe Curtis

Paul the Discord usually has the latest news, hope you're having a great spring as well!

david

LMAO "Chuck vs Walter" c'mon man you can't to that to 'em! They're both sweethearts (but yes, Walter all the way)

Stef Furness

It's so good! 💙
