RICKY LEE

I was just about to watch someone else... Oh...SG1 with FW... sorry y'all lol

Lady Beyond The Wall

I know it's goofy, but I do love all the Ba'al/Ball jokes, even your "All those Ba'al's are going to come rolling back to us" at the end. Reminds me of all the Yu/You jokes from O'Neill. As for maybe being biased with Ben Browder because of Farscape, I mean, that might be but I think you would have still liked it either way. I know some people didn't like the last 2 seasons, but personally, I watched Farscape after I watched all of Stargate and I ended up loving the last 2 seasons without having any Ben Browder or Claudia Black bias from that. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I think they did a really good job, probably the best they possibly could have, replacing not just General Hammond with (eventually) General Landry, but replacing O'Neill. They didn't try to make them copies of who they were "replacing" and made them their own characters with their own personalities. And they brought in Vala who I think brings in some fun/humor and bouncing off of Daniel's personality in a great way the same way that O'Neill provided.. just in a different way. And I literally had to google if I was spelling O'Neill's name right because I typed it too many times and it started looking really weird, and then I questioned why I didn't just say Jack. I hate when that happens.

Ragnarok

As to the question of whether the rings worked that way (at least, I think that’s what you were asking): Absolutely, always have. Did in the movie. O’Neil (with one L) smacked down the control crystal (with, I swear, history’s BEST one-liner), the rings came down, and the Ra guard’s head and Daniel/Sha’uri switch places. So yeah, absolutely!

Lady Beyond The Wall

Yeah I wasn't sure if he was asking that or if he was asking if rings had to be "under" the spaceship or whatever to work, rather than just in the general area.

Ragnarok

Ah. Well, (more to answer his question if he reads this, if that’s what it was, I’m sure you know the answer to that) yeah, the rings work two different ways. Either they can go straight up and down, purely site-to-site, or they can lock onto another set of rings anywhere in the area for travel between the two. That’s how ringing from one ship to another works.

Stef Furness

"O'Neill! 2 L's!" ||| "There's another O'Neil and that guy has *no* sense of humor!"

Brent Justice

All rings do is send a matter/energy stream like WiFi, as long as you are locked onto another ring it will receive the matter/energy stream, doesn't matter the orientation, and they can work both ways. Ships are able to "sense" other ring platforms and auto-connect. It's also how they found the rings in Antarctica, they assumed they were there, and sure enough, the ship was able to lock on and use them.

My theory is that it is Goa'uld brainwashing, just like they said it was. They have the capability of implanting commands in people as sleeper agents, remember the whole Za'tarc thing, that's what I think it is with Barrett. I'm a little underwhelmed with the SGC's ability to contain the Ba'al's to be honest, they've had a lot of practice now holding Goa'uld and prisoners on the base, you'd think they would have been a little more prepared/savy about that. So do we even think the real Ba'al even still exists? Are they all clones? Or is there still the original Ba'al, and which one is it? I really like Vala in this episode, she was much more integrated into the team. LOL you said SGA at the beginning of the ep, and then "NIA" at the end instead if NID, heh.

Lady Beyond The Wall

😂 Yeah I'll remember that quote forever I think. Funny enough it wasn't even that, it just started looking weird and I started questioning if I came before E. Which obviously it doesn't in the name because that looks even weirder, but I stared at it too long and my brain went stupid and I started questioning if I was even spelling a name at all. lol. Which, btw, no lie, happened to me with the word "air" once. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Timothy Nikiforovs

From the moment they found Ba'al by that crashed Al'kesh, they should have known that was step 1 of whatever scheme he was up to. Honestly I don't know why they didn't remove the locator chips just to be on the safe side, even if they thought they were blocked. At any rate, perhaps chasing after Ba'al will lead them to Merlin's weapon. As others have said, it is good to see Vala integrating more fully into the SGC and actually being helpful. Kinda sucks that Barrett apparently got compromised and doesn't even remember it. Hopefully they can break the brainwashing. Fun episode. Of all the system lord to stay active after the fall of the goa'uld, I'm glad they went with Ba'al. It's a good thing for O'Neill though that he's not on base anymore. I don't think he could deal with the headache of dealing with that many of them.

Lady Beyond The Wall

I know. I always remember that "I before E except after C" thing but that's bullshit because of well, all the words where that doesn't work. I'm great at spelling otherwise, but with "ei" "ie" words, I just let spellcheck do the work. When this automatic spellcheck stuff started popping up outside of Microsoft Word documents, I was so happy. At this point I don't even go back to fix any typing mistakes I make as I'm typing and just go through it afterwards to fix what's underlined, lol.

Teth

It's always a treat to see Ba'al, and Vala stepping up to show how useful she can be. I'm glad they didn't get rid of the goa'uld entirely as they moved on to bigger and badder enemies. You just can't compete with their flair.

one thing i am so sad about in sg1 is that there were so many civilians and aliens that were contracted into military service... however we never got to see any of them undergoing basic military training... I would have loved to see a young jackson, or even better, teal'c doing a training coarse with tactics and communication, learning and commenting on procedures and common tactics ect. just me? offcourse a military would train anyone in their employment into a standardized set of procedures and tactics training ect. it would have been mandatory.
