"How 'bout that timing, Jackson!"

"We are indeed suitably employed" is one of my favorite Teal'c lines.

Really fun little episode. I'm almost sad we won't be seeing more of Landry and Nerus bantering. "But I'm so interesting :("

Lady Beyond The Wall

Definitely a fun episode. Landry and Nerus was great, though Nerus is so damn gross! He still had powdered sugar or something on his face with Ba'al, come on! Love how much you're loving Landry too. I'm glad Cameron had such a good time 😂 And we got a new ship! Yay!

Lady Beyond The Wall

Haha, I loved that, such weird and unique last words, but it fits him "But I'm so interesting :(" with powdered sugar on his face.

We had The Big P back in season 6, only for it to be eclipsed by The Big D, and now finally we have The Big O. In truth it's doubtful that they'll build another 303 class ship, since Prometheus was altogether inferior to the 304 class. Still, at least we have a ship posted in the Milky Way again. Also Kevin Marks just appears all over the place, and that boy is just blasting through the ranks. Back when he first appeared in Avalon, he was a Lieutenant, by Ethon he was promoted to Captain, and now he's a Major. The man's got hustle. Also interesting little tidbit, when Landry goes to Area 51, they reused the shot from all the way back in Touchstone. That GMC actually has O'Neill and SG1 in it, and you can see then NID Major Reynolds going down the steps to greet them, long before he joined the SGC. Rather interesting idea for Ba'al to set up his own private stargate network with a VPN and everything. Honestly though I don't think anywhere in the Milky Way would be safe in the long run if the Ori win. You also can't trust he's really dead at this point with all the clones. I have to say though, I was never much of a fan of the Lucian alliance. They're just too.........generic. I do love the dance between Landry and Nerus though. Landry honestly ran circles around the guy letting him think he had the upper hand. At the same time though, I'm disappointed that, like Camulus, they let the potential for such technical expertise slip through their fingers. Especially since Nerus worked on tech a lot. They could have negotiated to provide him an opulent lifestyle in exchange for technical innovations to enhance their ships and defenses. Still, I guess they deemed stopping Ba'al more important. Loved Landry's "putz" after he went through the gate, and how he didn't even bother sending a MALP to the address Nerus gave them. Also kind of fun to see SG1 kitted up a bit differently for a change, with the MP7s and Cameron with the G36(always loved that rifle). Also the fact that SG1 has been captured and tortured so many times they're just bored with the routine now. Lastly, there's a little ongoing theme with Cameron over the last few episodes. Back in Stronghold, with his friend dying and Teal'c captured, he says "I'm in a bad mood today". In Ethon, after the Prometheus is destroyed and they learn the Tegalans have wiped each other out, he and Jackson agree it was a "rough day". Finally here at the end, Mitchell says "it was a good day". Granted they still have no answer to the Ori threat, but at least Cameron's days are getting better.

I always assumed that the sudden prevalence of Earth-style weapons had to do with how many guns would get left by SG teams out in the galaxy. Between getting captured, handing some off to people who could help fight the Goa'uld, and how many would have to be ditched on missions gone sideways, there must be a bunch of P90s, M4s and M9s scattered around. Considering that plenty of human civilizations developed similar cartridge-based firearms, it's not that much of a leap to think an organization as big as the Lucian Alliance could reverse engineer some more of the advanced concepts (nitrocellulose powder, rotating bolts, etc) in fairly short order and start openly selling weapons.

Plus even rather primitive societies like the genii and tegalans have a wide range of firearms

compared to energyweapons.. guns are really simple creations.. just something flammable and a projectile in an enclosed space. it is a natural progression from the crossbow. making it fully automatic and compact is the challenge, but those problems and developments would probably be natural as well... to see a lot of pipeguns is to be expected... it would require some industry for anything much more than that though.
