My favorite scene in the show DEAD

Carmen

The last scene always gives me goosebumps, probably the best acting we've seen from David (so far). Ah, Justine, you'll never be redeemed. Sahjan is a great villain, I like how they didn't let Angel beat him. I also miss Cordelia!

C J

Cordelia couldn't be there coz she's the only person Wes would have gone to. He had to feel alone enough, so it would make sense for him to keep it to himself. I really feel for Wes, he was trying to take Connor away and look after him himself, but Justine had to get in the way. It's understandable, also, why he didn't feel he could tell Angel. Angel would not have accepted it as we can see in this episode when he stubbornly tells Fred and Gunn that he wouldn't hurt his son or his friends, but we know that's not true. You said in the beginning we would be getting 18 also, but there's only 17 here. Are you having an upload issue? 🙃

Paul Carroll

Still no 18? It's been 2 days since this was posted.

You didn't comment at the end, no end episode review, but I hope you caught the fact that the prophecy wasn't real, Sahjhan re-wrote the prophecy, originally it was going to be that the son of the vampire would grow up and kill Sahjhan, that's the real prophecy, so Sahjhan wrote some new things in that would remove Conner from that path, by re-writing the Faher will kill the son prophecy, which originally must have said something else. So a lot to keep track of there, but definitely some tomfoolery going on there with prophecies being re-written, but Conner growing up to kill Sahjhan is a real prophecy.

He posted it on APR 3, 2022 AT 11:20 PM. Since it is now April 5th, 5:17PM that is exactly 1 day and 17 hours, almost a full 2 days, and it sounded like ep 18 was right around the corner, and certainly past the "He said he'll post it tomorrow" comment you made in another post, well.. it's been after "tomorrow" now, still nothing.

Laura_Ali

Well, he just posted it, and for my timezone, (April 4th 4.20am, now April 5th 11:44pm) he did, in fact, do one yesterday and one today. Timezones are fun.

"YOU'RE A DEAD MAN, PRYCE!!! I'LL KILL YOU!! YOU'RE A DEAD MAN! DEAD!!!" Man I just LOVE the intensity this show can have sometimes. Scenes like that are definitely one area Angel surpasses Buffy IMO. This also isn't as clear cut as Angel's dark story in S2. Wes got duped, and he honestly should have dealt with this without involving Holtz, but he had noble intentions. At the same time though, Connor was the first thing to give Angel real meaning in a long time, and it's hard to say I'd react any differently in his shoes. You can only push someone so far before they snap. Clearly Gunn and Fred never wanted Wes to die for what he did, but I think when the dust settles they're still going to come down on Angel's side, so very much a reversal from last season. Angel was clearly unhinged, and I'm glad Gunn was clear headed enough to know to give him his space, because like he said, if Angel were to hurt Fred, he'd be just as blinded by anger as Angel is. Also felt bad for Fred thinking that knowing about the prophecy was just going to fix everything. Optimistic, but they were way past that. As far as betrayals go this is way worse than Angel firing everyone, it's worse than Willow's careless magic use endangering Dawn or wiping Tara's memory. Hell, it might even be worse than Giles carrying out the cruciamentium(spelling). At least in that case he was coerced into it and it wasn't originally meant to endanger anyone else. This wasn't something Wes did to Angel, he took his son away, possibly indirectly got him killed, and he didn't consult anyone except Angel's oldest enemy. He may have had more noble intentions than the aforementioned situations, but that doesn't change how deep it cuts. Wesley may be alive, but it's hard to see the team ever coming back together after this.
