Yeah, I think this one's mainly a filler episode. We get to see more of the Trio's dynamic and where their 'strengths' lay - Warren is the tech guy, Andrew (Tuckers brother) is the demon guy, and Jonathon is the Wicca. Also seeing Buffy off kilter and feeling out of place was a definite focus. Some interesting elements but not one of the best episodes overall.

This one seems to be a hit or miss episode for sure. I like it a lot because of the humor but I know a lot of people don't love it.

yeah it's a very "meh" filler episode for me

lol i liked this one... Buffy's been super out of it since she came back, but we got to see a little comedy from her here. It's been so dramatic so far this season, and dont get me wrong that's why I've been loving it so much, but Buffy needs some funny here and there to remain Buffy. The light heartedness works for me as episode 5 of the season.

This is a fun episode, pure and simple, it's meant to be fun, light hearted, and comical, it's typical Joss Whedon, so you have to look at it through that lens. For all of that, I loved it. I think it's a great emotional break from the depress'ness that has been going on since Buffy was raised from the dead. This is the light jovial episode the show needed to breathe. Buffy is still trying to find her place, especially now, she's trying to get back into the groove of life and figure out where she should be heading, it's like going to college all over again. She's trying to find her path in life, and starting to realize she has to get a job. So this is a perfect transition episode. And at the end, Giles is sad that once again, Buffy doesn't realize she needs to take responsibility, Giles is her easy out, and quite honestly he's enabling her, of course he'll help, but he wants her to realize that she needs to take charge, be the big sister, get a job, earn money, and take the reigns. Instead, once again, she's relying on him.

Oh and to answer your question, Season 6 of Buffy aired from October 2001 into 2002. The first Scooby movie came out in 2002, but I don't know when they filmed it, I assume it'd be early that year or 2001, so technically Season 6 would be around the time of filming of the first Scooby movie, and then that would overlap between Season 6 and 7 and into 7 for the filming of the other ones. So basically, Season 6 and 7 of Buffy overlaps with Scooby filming. I guess if you really break it down, the actual filming of Scooby must have happened between Season 5 and Season 6, and then right after filming Scooby she went into filming Season 6, and then the other movies overlap between 6 and 7, that would make sense.

I thought this was a fun episode. As Brent said, you need a break from the depression here and there. Buffy at least seems to be readjusting to life even if she's still avoiding responsibility. I honestly don't get Warren though. This guy can create some sort of time disruption device the size of a pebble, and he's hanging out in mom's basement coming up with knock off Bond villain master plans? Not to mention his skill in robotics. Even if he just made sex robots he'd make millions, and that would be ignoring potential applications in the military, rescue operations, dangerous or heavy manual labor, etc.... This guy could found his own Boston Dynamics. Sucks to see Buffy's employment opportunities evaporate(like the demons), even if it was hilarious. Giles clearly doesn't mind helping but you can tell at the end there that she's looking at that cheque like it's a solution, when it's just buying her time. She needs a job, which I still think should be her actual job as slayer, but barring that, a salary from something else. Also a couple clips from this episode really stand out to me, namely "this mummy hand has ceased to be, it is an ex mummy hand" and the "free cable porn" at the end, because I saw them dozens of times back in the day. It was either part of the commercials for the Spacey awards or just a bumper commercial on Space, but both of those were worked in.

Scooby Doo was filmed around ''Intervention'', SMG would travel from Australia to LA and do both simultaneously, I remember an interview where she said that at one point she was playing Buffy, Buffy Bot and Daphne.

Smg was filming season 6 of Buffy for a week and then going out to film the Scooby movie a other week during season 6 of Buffy
