Really wish patreon would ask for confirmation when you hit the delete button. Grrrrr. Big oof on the whole situation with Chiana and Jothee. D'Argo has gone through enough and didn't deserve that. At least he still has Crichton to be a bro. Actually Crichton really killed it is this episode in general. He mobilized everyone to action, came up with solutions on the fly to deal with the crisis, was there to pull his friend back from the precipice, and gave Chiana and Jothee a well deserved admonishment. Really bad look on both of their characters doing something frankly unforgiveable. Also can we appreciate how original Farscape is with it's alien designs. What other show gives you a russian sounding, humanoid spider bartender? Speaking of farscape aliens, I just found out Lani Tupu also does the voice of Pilot. And what was with that maniacal laugh at the end? I don't think I've ever seen Pilot so bloodthirsty. Maybe he is just fed up with the crew's drama and needed to work off some stress. And I absolutely love the S3 intro. The changes really highlight Crichton's changing role in the universe. In the S1/2 intro, the music exemplified the weird, otherworldly qualities of Farscape, whereas the new intro has a more serious/dire tone to it. John's narration also shows how his own perspective has changed. He goes from referring to Moya's crew as "strange alien creatures" to "my friends". Also in the earlier intro his narration was panicked, that of a lost human thrown into a strange, hostile universe and impossibly out of his depth, wanting nothing more than to escape the nightmare and return home. Now he speaks as someone who is an active participant in the events around him, and someone actually considering staying out of a duty to protect Earth. Also "but then you'll never know the wonders I've seen" is such a great line IMO. Overall really shows John's growth as a character.

The Farscape S3 title sequence is my FAVORITE title sequence in the history of TV, period. I still get chills every time I get to "...the wonders I've seen".

What an episode, thank you for the reaction. One of the Interions woke up and died, but there are 2 more I think.

As weird as the whole Chiana/Jothee thing was I think it did make sense for the characters. Chiana has always shown herself to be very sexual and very impulse. She lives by her own rules and has always prided herself on that. She and Jothee are both the equivalent of teenagers as well and D'Argo is only a young adult (longer alien lifespans mean they're in that young adult stage for a longer period of time) which helps explain his rather idolized, immature approach to his relationship with Chiana. He created this fiction in his own head of what their relationship was but it was never going to be like that with her. Obviously what she did was awful, but I do think it makes sense given the history of everyone involved. Can we also take a minute to appreciate the fantastic acting of the guy who plays D'Argo? So much pain and anguish portrayed through all that heavy makeup and prosthetics! I also like that the John/Aeryn relationship flips the usual male/female stereotype on its head where he wants an actual relationship with her and she'd rather just have a casual sexual relationship and leave feelings out of it!
