Huge thank you to everyone for continuing to support the page, it means the world. I appreciate everyone sending their feedback in the google survey, it was very insightful. Sometimes thinking about what to do on my own can be overwhelming but getting these responses helped greatly. I definitely will be using more surveys in the future as well as just improving communication in general. I will be doing my best to improve the Patreon page as much as possible while also balancing it with my personal life.

Below I will list some updates as we move forward.

Weekly schedule and consistency

By the number of responses, it’s clear what you all would like and that is a schedule. It makes sense, and I agree with the sentiment. You should know what days to expect certain content. Moving forward, I will start posting weekly schedules again. In the past, I’ve fallen behind and have ended up stressing about missing a few days or having to catch up and it can become a bit much. That being said, with the newly proposed schedule and time slots, I will be able to maintain a balanced upload flow. Of course, hiccups happen from time to time, but I also believe in the past the lack of scheduling has impacted me as well, so this general schedule will be beneficial for both you and me.

Improving communication

My communication has been subpar and I acknowledge that. Whether it’s on social media or with all of you I need to and will work towards being more frequent in my updates. If something urgent happens and I won’t be able to upload, I’ll post as soon as possible on Patreon. If I’m just generally not feeling well and in need of a break to recharge, I will do my best to pre-record and be transparent about it. Honestly, I love the community and what we have going on here. I hope you all understand where I’m coming from and can forgive me for the past hiccups, especially the past few months which have been more challenging in my personal life. Looking forward to keeping things going on a more consistent note.

Forward-looking statements: Content-wise the schedule has been jam-packed. Avatar the Last Airbender and Mr. Robot will be wrapping up shortly. For the time being, I have no current plans to add any new long-running series. I am leaning towards leaving that time for future content such as bi-weekly movie reactions, as well live streaming. The streams can be used for interacting with all of you directly and more regularly but as well as a way to do live tv show reactions to new mini-series in the future (LOKI, Rick and Morty, etc). These are all great ideas however I am by no means rushing to add these at the moment with my current load. Once I feel more balanced posting the new schedule, 1-2 shows on the current lineup finish, we can start exploring these options.

Minor changes for weekly operations:

At the moment, we currently use Google Drive and DropBox for the reaction videos. For DB, previews are limited to 1-hour viewings which can lead to extra-long, double bubbles, and movie reactions being cut off. This can be resolved by logging in to your DB account and downloading the file directly. However, I know this is not ideal for everyone. Moving forward I will be separating double bubble reactions to avoid this. For movie reactions or the odd individual episode reaction longer than 1-hour, you will need to download them.

Updating welcome page with spoilers’ warnings:

If you’ve been a Patron here long enough you know that I prefer to know little to nothing about the content I’m reacting to. For the most part, we’ve done a fantastic job at upkeeping no spoilers. That being said, it’s usually the mods in the Discord who explain this to newer Patrons which aren’t sure of the rules. I take responsibility for that since I didn’t have that deliberately written when signing up for the Patreon page. I have updated the “Welcome Page” on Patreon to indicate what I’d consider a spoiler and to avoid using it. For example, future episode titles, characters that haven’t appeared yet, deaths, big events, detailed thoughts on upcoming episodes/seasons/ character plot points, etc. Feel free to have as many spoiler-free conversations in the comments. I know not everyone is on discord, but over there we have specific channels for all the current and previous shows to discuss with one another!

Help with broken links/ongoing feedback inbox:

We have quite a bit of content on the page and I maintain all of it. Occasionally links can stop working and for you, that means you won’t be able to watch the videos you’d like. If a link ever stops working, to improve the overall experience for yourself and the others please send a message either on Patreon messaging, or email FailWhalePatreon@gmail.com. I will resolve the matter immediately and have a new link-up. If there is ever a question, concern, or you need help navigating through the back catalog of content feel free to send me a message anytime and I will help as soon as possible.
