Omg I *loved* your reaction to this episode! They did go for seeing what it would be like if Buffy killed an actual person and how that would go, but had to take it back so our protagonist would still be okay. I love that for half the episode you truly believe he is human and you're terrified for Buffy and I love how you expressed all our emotions so well -- wanting her to kick Ted's ass, but then like oh shit no too far! I was the same when I saw it over 20 years ago now lol.

This was definitely the most I've ever enjoyed this episode. I also wish he wasn't a robot. Oh, and when SMG walks into the kitchen for the apology scene... I think it's one of her best acting moments. It feels so genuine. You hurt for her.

Vincent Valentin

The twist is much more obvious on second viewing. a lot of his lines and the words he chooses are robot references.

Loved this reaction so much, and while this episode isn't one of my favourites, this reaction of yours definitely is. I found myself laughing as I watched - in a good way, because you reminded me so much of myself watching the episode for the first time. I agree that the robot reveal cheapened the story a bit, but I think they had to make him some kind of "monster" so Buffy didn't have issues with the law, because that would take the series into very different territory. Can't wait for the next one!

OK creepy but have you noticed Ted’s initials at the call center sales board is T.B ? It has been speculated or confirmed I can’t which that Ted was inspired but Ted Buddy, hence the initials.

I love your reaction videos. Even though I've watched the Buffy eps a million times, they feel brand new watching through your eyes.

Lol. Your reaction was a lot the same as my reaction the first time I watched this. Just "what the fuck?" every other scene. I think if he hadn't turned out to be a robot there would have been storyline issues but it would have been nice if he hadn't been. I like that they gave enough breathing room for Buffy and Joyce to feel and express the emotions that came along with the actual idea of her killing him, even though it turned out she hadn't killed an actual person. It's those moments that are really strong in this episode. Rewatching this one is fun because you already know the twist and when he says certain things you can really see the robot in him ahead of time, even though you can't see it on the first viewing. I thought John Ritter was a great choice here because due to his previous roles (Three's Company and 8 Rules for Dating my Teenage Daughter) he's really believable as the nice-guy step-dad in the first few scenes but that might not apply here if you haven't seen his other roles.
