Thanks to the last poll, we've established that the Greensinger is a changeling druid of the Circle of Dreams, who spent their childhood in the domain of the archfey known as Fortune's Fool (or Lady Perilous to her friends). An optimist, the Greensinger is certain that things will work out for the best in the end. While in Thelanis, they learned many things—including a  song that possesses great magical power, but which could kill them if they ever sing it! As a side note, the Greensinger uses they/them pronouns in their elf form; other personas have their own identities.

This brings us to The Flame. Here's what we know so far.

The Flame is only a teenager, but divine visions  have carried them to Threshold. They know that dangers face this town, both dark forces beyond its walls and greed that consumes from within. An orphan who knows nothing of their heritage, the Flame is a teenage kalashtar, but they are channeling the power of the Silver Flame.

Some of these points are clear. The Flame is a teenaged orphan who has no knowledge of kalashtar culture, and thus likely has had little or no contact with other kalashtar. While they have divine powers, they aren't tied to a religious institution; their abilities come from the direct inspiration of the Flame, and possibly their quori spirit.

So there's a few questions we need to answer. They're a divine spellcaster, but are they a cleric or a sorcerer? In part this speaks to personality; the sorcerer will have a higher Charisma and be more exuberant, while a cleric will have a higher Wisdom and a little more serenity. Where are they from? If they're Brelish, they aren't far from where they grew up. If they're Cyran, they have ties to the Cyran refugees and likely already know the Smith. A third option is that they're from the Shadow Marches—they were orphaned in a shipwreck (probably a ship traveling to or from Adar) and have grown up either in Zarash'ak or out in the swamps, and know little about the Five Nations or the world beyond the Marches.

The next important question is their relationship with their spirit. They know little of the kalashtar and draw their divine powers from the Silver Flame. Is this because they have never had any clear contact with their quori spirit, even in dreams? Could it be that the quori spirit speaks to them in dreams, but they  have misinterpreted those dreams—which inadvertently led them to the Silver Flame? Or do they actually have an active relationship with the spirit, which supports their faith in the Flame? Or to go out on a limb, could it be that they aren't actually a kalashtar at all—that while they seem to be a kalashtar, they may actually be bound to a couatl instead of a quori?

Thanks for your support!

Urchin from the shadow marshes: we could get some insight on Zarash'ak!!

I wrote an article on Zarash'ak for Dungeon 191, but I'm not sure if it's available anywhere.

Couatlshtar and Last of their Line are both really cool facts, as is the trinket! I think that with Last of their Line you might get some extra narrative punch because it would become even more meaningful as a final connection to parents they do not remember. That definitely swings it over for me a little.

Last of the Line seems like it would invite Dreaming Dark into the campaign, as they'd be keen to eliminate the Flame. Otherwise, I would be less likely to expect their involvement. There's plenty to work with in Threshold already. Not Kalashtar sets up an intriguing mystery. It could be a couatl. It could be a quori that has turned to the Flame, as that's been discussed on the Discord, and Keith has indicated that would be no longer a quori. It could be something else entirely.
