December Podcast & Livestream Update (Patreon)

Hey skele-friends!

We hope you're doing well and had a great holiday. We will have another video for you here on Patreon, Thursday New Years Eve. However, we've gotten really behind on a few other things because...

...December turned into a weird month for SSFF.

On the 12th our neighbors above us overflowed their toilet, resulting in a pretty substantial leak through our hallway light fixture. This lead to several other repairs in our ceiling. For almost two weeks we had large holes cut in the ceilings of several rooms, and then loud shop fans and dehumidifiers running for 24 or 48 hours. Basically up until right before christmas, working at home was nightmare. And thanks to covid-19 lockdown, there's not many places to work remotely.

This the 3rd time in 6 months we've had leaks in this apartment. It's ridiculous. Our landlord has actually been really understanding though! They offered to terminate our lease, so naturally we used the opportunity to start looking for a new apartment. We saw a bunch of different places all over north-west Washington. After all of that, we decided we'll take them up on their off to switch units, because it's not worth the time and energy to do otherwise.

Basically we've spend most of this month dealing with apartment-related crap. We've been able to keep video production mostly on schedule, but due to noise and general exhaustion, we have not been able to stream since this started and we've missed the SSFF podcasts. We are sorry but I think both will have to take a hiatus until January.

I've been playing a lot of Zelda Majora's Mask for GameClub, so I'm definitely ready to for a podcast on that! But Grace has not had the opportunity to play much so that podcast might be a Derek solo podcast (with the discord chat of course). And as for GameClub in January, we're going to have to put that on hold too. But I think the Majora podcast will still happen January 5th. After that though, no other podcasting for the month.

We had been planning on taking January off. Now a portion of that month will be dedicated to moving (albeit just to a different unit, but still). 2020 is a year a lot of us will need time to recover from so that we can have a powerful and productive 2021. You deserve SSFF at its best and I can't see us being able to give you our best if we don't take some time off in January. The good news is new videos are still coming and we'll be in the discord chatting with yall. SSFF ain't stopping! But we gotta slow down for a little bit.

In conclusion!

More than ever before, we are grateful for your support. It's been a tough year, you've given us something to occupy our heads with and we hope we've given you at least a few minutes  away from the heaviness of things in 2020. 

Tell your loved-one that you love them, be kind to yourself, play video games that make you happy, and have a happy new year.
