Poor Wu!! It's so horrible seeing him in so much distress like this. The group have some serious decisions to make here. The Awang is creepy as hell! Why a mother would want to live by murdering her grandbaby is beyond me!! Adalind has the baby & the baby looks very protective of her mother haha...

The first five minutes are definitely in the top ten creepiest openers yet. I loved that they brought in an actual real/mythic creature in the Aswang. I remember first hearing that term either in some video game or comic book long ago. The CGI was pretty rough though, particularly in the last scene with the creature. I honestly didn't expect Sam to be Wessen, so that was a nice surprise. Personally, I think he was one of the scariest in the show so far. Top three for me, in no particular order, are Renard, Adalind, and Sam. I could be forgetting some from previous seasons though. Speaking of Adalind, the birthing scene made me feel very anxious and brought me back to 1990 when our son was born. Unfortunately I was working 80 miles away and didn't make it in time to be in the delivery room. Sometimes when I'm thinking too much I still feel guilt, even though there was nothing I could have done about it. Going back to video games, because I know you love playing them too, Dak, every time I hear the term Hexenbeast I think of the 1995 video game Hexen: Beyond Heretic and the 1997 sequel Hexen II. I still remember how much I loved playing them, but I don't think I'd get the same enjoyment from them today because of the graphics. Oh, and I almost forgot that when I heard them first mention valerian root in the episode it reminded me of valyrian steel from Game Of Thrones, which back then reminded me that valerian root was something I could purchase from a vendor in some game 15 years ago or so. Weird how things trigger memories that have no significance. Finally, I love that we got a Wu episode. He is one of my favorite characters and I really hope that he gets brought into the circle. That scene in the hospital was heartbreaking. Thank you for another great reaction Dak.

Valerian root is in the Sleepytime Extra Chamomile tea I drink at night to help me sleep. Most nights it works like a charm. I don't recommend taking it simply to relax though like you can with regular Chamomile tea, especially if you have to drive or go out. Although I drink quite a lot, usually 10oz mug instead of the normal 6oz-8oz and make it strong.
