Hello All!

Things are getting REAL now!!! My heart was in my mouth the entire episode! Seeing Rosalee so upset broke me & then Monroe getting more protective (I thought that was impossible) & Juliette being the voice of reason again - this show is fantastic!! I was so happy with how it ended but baby steps when it comes to Monroe's family!

The Vertrautheiten is when two different species of wesen consent to exchange their scent with one another. I vaguely remember it being explained off screen when the show first aired, which I personally thought was a mistake & that the explanation should've been included in the episode itself. I'm all for 'show don't tell', but in this case the Vertrautheiten is actually a huge deal in terms of Grimm lore, & I feel like it warranted more than just an off air, 'Oh, by the way....' hand wave. A Fuchsbau and a Blutbad exchanging their scent essentially means that one can track & potentially hunt the other, so to willingly offer your scent to another in that case signifies a real commitment towards building friendship and trust.

I'd agree. For something as important as that, and the way the show usually organically hands out explainations for viewing Kehrseite schlich kennenlike us, you'd have thought that they'd at least drop in a couple of actual lines about what was going on.

A great conclusion to this two-parter. On the previous reaction I had commented that the MOTW was bland, and I stand by that based on the fact that we didn't get much background and, let's be honest, even if we had, the episode's main focus was on our Monroe and Rosalee. This episode really fleshed out the Wesen's background and threw two more into the mix, making for a VERY formidable trio. This was probably the hardest fight Nick and Monroe have been in and I don't think they would have been the victors without Monroe's dad's help. My one quibble with the episode is that they didn't actually scalp the Wildesheer, they just pulled out/cut some hair. It was nice seeing Chris Mulkey (Monroe's dad). He's an incredibly prolific actor with over 250 credits going back to the '70s. Movies and TV shows. He's the guy that appears in one or two episodes and is memorable. Congratulations Dak on not spilling something on yourself. ;)
