Rosas are Red - Now Testing with Cutting-Edge (Patreon)

We've got something very special for you all today. You may have seen Rosas are Red popping up here and there in the Anduo Reports in various states of development. It's been on the backburner for a long time while we've focused on Third Crisis, and has been slowly but surely making progress in the background with art and writing.

Well now we're happy to say that we're in the final polish sprint for release and we have a nearly complete playable build of Rosas are Red to share, featuring 2/3 of the playable content in a near-final state with the last 1/3 being very rough and unfinished, but still in the build.

The plan for Rosas are Red was always that it'd be one big release where we drop the game and the game is done, but we also want to make sure the game is high quality when it does drop. To this end, we're going to start releasing this test-build out in waves starting today to our lovely Cutting-Edge Patrons with plans to release to our wonderful Founder Patrons once things are a little more polished and closer to release. 

This will allow us to focus on the feedback and bug reports as they come in so we can tune the game up as needed.

Do not feel obligated to upgrade to these Patron tiers if you aren't ready to experience some real bugginess and unfinished game. If you want your first time with the game to be flawless (and cost less), then we recommend you wait until the final release once everything is good to go.

Now let's talk about the game itself!

Rosas are Red has been a long time in the making to create an expanded experience inspired by the original week-long game jam (now called RaR Classic) that we put out before we even released Third Crisis. The game features a believable mobile interface and has you flirting and sexting with a girl named Rosa. Our main goal was to make it as immersive as possible and make you feel like there was actually someone on the other end talking to you.

There's also a bunch of fun little things like a working music player and even a calculator, with things like achievements and settings being in their own totally believable mobile apps.

Due to the mobile interface, RaR is best experienced on a mobile device, but it can also be played intuitively by using a mouse on a PC. On that note, we're incredibly excited to announce that Rosas are Red is going to be playable on iOS, Android, and PC.

iOS users will be able to play by using the browser version in Safari, and the browser version is also playable on PC and Android alongside their native versions.

There's been a ton of work on the browser version to make it really snappy to load and performant on mobile, with the only real downside (compared to native) being a lower resolution on the CG images.

We're really excited about being on iOS because we haven't been able to put TC on iOS because of App Store restrictions, so Rosas are Red is going to be our first iOS-playable game!

Once the game is released, we're planning to have it both on Steam and itch.io, along with the browser version being hosted on our website so that itch.io users can play it in their browser.
