June 2021 Update (Patreon)

Hi all!

Okay, so some news for the month of June.

Holy shit, am I exhausted. Real life has kept me busy, and we had a heat wave (and the AC couldn't keep up) and what little time I had went to editing and writing, and I just couldn't keep up. I had a few days where I looked at Discord, worked for five-ten minutes, then had to close my laptop.

Ugh.

So the bad news is that this is going to be a one-chapter month. I hate it as much as you do, because A) money and B) means you have to wait that much longer. Sure, I could rush something out in the next seven days, but it wouldn't be up to my standard. I've only written about a thousand words of it, and won't have time to write much more until after this weekend. Bleh.

Next chapter is going to require all my attention for so many reasons.

Also, on a related note, I received Book 3 edits back (Round 2!). I plan to use some of my immediate future to get on those right away. I have cover art in progress, and once the edits are done, they go back one last time for final edits. I would love to see an Aug/Sept release of Book 3.

The audiobook is super delayed. After not hearing from Amber for a bit, she sent me a message saying that there was a problem with the files (her microphone picked up truck noises for the whole chapter) and it means she has to re-record a ton of stuff. I am just as eager as you are to hear some new voices (Zel, Ratu, etc), so hopefully I get a giant folder from Ms. Connors very soon.

Kat is almost halfway done with book art. I hope you've enjoyed the polls that let you choose what goes into that book. I could never afford to put everything in (and make it a graphic novel, essentially), but I try real hard to choose from pivotal moments. 

The Discord server has become quite the place to visit if you're a reader. It's gotten to the point where I can no longer read everything posted. I love that people will start discussions about their favorite recipes, share pet picks, and then devolve into Radley-verse conspiracy theories. If you like chatting with other readers, it is definitely the place to be.

That's all from me. Hoping still for some big news next month, but we shall see where the tides take us. I probably forgot something for the update, but that's par for the course these days.
