Hey all!

Earlier this morning, I discovered (on accident) that somebody had uploaded HFHM to Wattpad without my permission. While I appreciate that they took the time to mention my name at the start of the story, that's a big no-no, especially because it could cause issues with Amazon when I do actually publish.

So to curtail it happening again, I opened my own Wattpad account and uploaded it myself. My work will (for now) only appear on Lit or Wattpad after it is uploaded here. Here's the link for anybody who uses that platform.

Random news, happy Saturday everybody!

Stories Online may be something to look at also for preventative measures

Yeah, well, this person copied other Lit author's tales and tossed them up as well. I think they copied off of Lit, I always make a couple of changes between here and there so I can figure out where the leaks came from. Looks like they all came from Lit.

I've thought about it. My time is so limited anymore that I struggle to keep up with Lit posting sometimes. Silly, I know, but I'm at the point where I am writing sentences on my phone at work just to keep up :/

LoL, you are very interactive! It's appreciated, but not much of an option on that site. You just upload it and walk away.

A copyright notice at the beginning of each piece will help. Registration of copyright is a further step, but costly and probably overkill. A book that I edited has been uploaded to a few sites, but an email or two to the site owner has always been enough to get it taken down again.

What an inconsiderate thing to do. Doing anything with someone else's work without permission is a wonderfully great way to provide incentive for them to stop creating or stop sharing it with that particular audience. Then everyone loses because one individual didn't want to bother asking permission to upload.

A copyright notice at the start of every story may help and is recommended along with a notification not to post the story elsewhere. That way you are covered and if you ever catch he person doing the movement, gives you some recourse. If you haven't already notified Lit yet, I might suggest doing so. There isn't a lot they can do, but they might like to know.

Wookey

congrats on being proactive
