Ask Annabelle - Dec 2017 (Patreon)

Hey all! Got a couple of questions from last month that I thought I would drop for ya while you eagerly await the next chapter!

Q1. How much time do you have a week to write?

A1. It varies. Ultimately, it isn’t uncommon for me to be in bed, trying not to fall asleep, writing on my tablet. I don’t really keep track of time, but consider this-often when I hit publish on a chapter, I have maybe only 500 words into the next one (including my notes).

Q2. You sound hot/sexy/kinky. Can we chat/email/cyber?

A2. Uh, no. I’ve gotten a lot of these last month, which is the main reason my email address is not widely known (I've actually gotten a couple feedback letters that are borderline scary, actually). I am happy to talk about all sorts of things under the sun, but erotic communication with my readers is not one of those things. I do have a very committed, supportive partner, so while I may write about sex and romance, I'm not currently looking for it.

Q3. What’s with all the exclamation marks?

A3. I am a very energetic person! Part of that is my coffee intake, the rest is my personality! I’ve had coworkers tell me (frequently) to tone it down, but fuck ‘em, I get to write about steamy hot monster sex!

Q4. Are you going to abandon this story? Please don’t break my heart like that!

A4. This question makes me sad, not because it hurts my feelings, but because it shows me how many people have been burned by writers who walk away. I know this feeling first hand-I know I have mentioned before a favorite Lit author who died before finishing their tale. I do get emotionally invested in books, and when an author vanishes or even takes their sweet time (*cough* George R. R. Martin) writing the next book, it kills me. This is why I try very hard to stick with a couple of projects until I see them through.

Q5. Do you/have you played DND or role playing games? You seem like the person who would.

A5. I have an entire book shelf in my house full of manuals that is straight from my younger days. I don’t play anymore (no time!), but my barbarian once went antiquing (the prank, not the activity) with an elder god.
