Context for the Diogo and Uncle Mateo scenes: Diogo and his uncle Mateo were mining an asteroid for ore. After the Martian Navy patrol boarded their ship and banned them from passing through the restricted zone, Mateo took his net of rocks and flung them at the Martian ship while they shot a missile at him and blew him up. He threw Diogo out with a transponder on him hoping someone will eventually get him giving him a chance to survive. Diogo is also the same kid that Miller caught stealing Water on Ceres and let go.
