Some of this might have been brought up during the full reaction, but just in case you mentioned that Hector's money was being stolen in the opening, so just to clarify that was a flashback. Hector mentions having just bought the ice cream shop and the driver he brought with him was the same one who Mike robbed and was then murdered. And the way Eladio talks about the money that Gus brought in sounds like Gus has just started his operations up north. So it shows just how quickly Gus was able to get into Eladio's favor once he decided to bring him into the cartel. And the one who brought Eladio the t-shirt, Bolsa, was also in Breaking Bad. He was the guy who mediated between the twins and Gus when they wanted to kill Walter, and eventually Gus had him gunned down while they were talking on the phone.

Can't wait for Wednesday. That episode is top 3 for me. If not top 1 of this show.

That last shot at the end of KIm and Jimmy walking out at the end...such a magnificent team, such a great couple. It makes it all the sadder that Kim is not around Breaking Bad, and all the sadder knowing where Jimmy ends up in the flashforwards. I hope in the end they find each other again. But it depends on the fate of Kim.

yeh the thing about Jimmy and Kim being more general by saying "property" and Chuck trying to make sure the tape is mentioned specifically is because Chuck wants there to be grounds for using the tape as evidence. Even bringing up the extra $2 for the property is an effort to have the tape be relevant in lines of questioning. That way he can justify shoeing in the "well what's with the tape why was it sought after by jimmy?" and then Chuck can play it and the board will hear jimmy confessing to fraud and hopefully that will get him disbarred. Jimmy breaking in is already a big crime and would probably get him suspended but the confession of fraud/falsifying docs is more proof of him not being fit as an ethical lawyer

Even though it was all part of Gus’ plan, when Hector is sitting in that office, scraping shit onto the desk, just remind yourself that this is the man that murdered Gus’ partner (and possible lover). The hate and anger was palpable. And regarding Gus’ story to his employees, remember that he’s fostered an environment were everyone- staff and even local politicians and law enforcement, respect and believe everything he says. Plus, they see him as a leader so the idea that he would scare off extortionists is totally believable if you’re someone like Lyle, who is so clearly a company guy lol.

For the first time, I'm looking forward to BCS more than any of the other shows this week. Not that I don't look forward to it usually, but it's just more of a slow burn. It's overall the best show you guys are watching right now imo.

Exactly! Plus Jimmy and Kim could question the relevance of the tape, if it is not accounted for. If they play the tape, Jimmy can argue he only said it to make Chuck feel better, but that becomes less believable when you consider he destroyed the tape. If they didn't bring up the extra $2, all the board will see is that Jimmy paid $321 and that fixing the door cost $321.

Another important thing to keep in mind about Gus's story is that it's full of these empty platitudes about how great America is and how the bad guys have no power over us here. This show is still in the year 2002 at this point and the amount of people eating up this kind of shit in the first couple of years after 9/11 was staggering. It's a really nice way to date the show in this time period and you can totally see Gus using these kinds of speeches in order to propel himself as an important and patriotic part of the community in the early 2000s.
