Loving these episodes and your reactions! The extra awful part about Light's feelings towards his father is that he wanted Chief Yagami to write a name in the notebook. Which we know from episode 3 means that he couldn't go to heaven. Light wasn't just being insensitive and selfish, he was actually willing to bar his father from heaven just to kill Mello.

No, heaven and hell don't exist in death note loook it up, it was stated before by the creator, after death there's nothingness which is called "mu" if I'm not mistaken

There is a theory that Death Parade and deathnote are in the same universe. Spoiler In death parade which is made by the same studio a few times they make odd references to something weird happening on earth and later we see someone who looks like light and they make a comment about not being able to use the regular system with him. Also in the show it's about deciding what happens to you after death. If a relatively good person you get to rejoin the cycle of rebirth or if you were bad you go to Nothingness "Mu" I wont mention specifics as if you havent seen death parade it's a good watch with a great opening that gives you the complete wrong idea on what the show is lol
