"Ruth" Buddy Rich Drum Solo from Ed Sullivan Show 1970 Part I (Patreon)

I had a request of transcribing Ruth so I start with this one. This is the only take with live footage and others are only sound clips.

There are 2 parts for the drum solo in this chart. The first one is 8 bars, and the 2nd one depends on takes. Today I will show you the first 8 bars drum solo.

As soon as the drum solo starts, the rhythm section except Buddy rushes up.(maybe they couldn't here what Buddy was playing due to the acoustic of the stage)

Especially on the 3rd and 4th bars, the phrases are bit complicated that make it vague where the one is. But from the 5th bar, the phrases become clearer and makes it easier to find out where the one is which led Pat LaBarbra to come in on the right timing. (Just my guess though)

Since it is only 8 bars, I might be able to play this in short time.
