I recently had my first shoot with the fabulous Misty. Whilst we were planning the shoot, Misty asked if I would be interested in trying some shibari, and when I asked who would do the tying she said it is usually the photographer. This is something totally new to me, but she sent me a tutorial video on YouTube, and I practised in advance on a dressmaker's dummy.

This is actually the second set from that day, but the first I edited. The first set was in my usual black and white style, but I also wanted to try a set in colour as the rope was a bright red.  I was also very keen to see what I could do with my Pixapro optical snoot and gobos. I used one of my studio strobes with a large parabolic umbrella as a key light, and then through a lot of trial and error finally managed to get the projected shadow to be of a density and position that we both liked.
