This was my second shoot with the stunning Tilly, and she was more than happy to help me experiment with some different lighting techniques and my new fog machine.

I usually shoot in my dining room at home, but it isn't possible to black out that room, so this time we were in my master bedroom (I struggle to sleep without complete darkness so the room has blackout blinds).

These were shot with just two lights, both continuous LED lights. Behind Tilly, I placed my Interfit Badger Beam, and then used my Aputure Amaran 200x as the key light, with just a spillkill reflector attached. The smoke was created using an American DJ VF1100 Fog Smoke Machine.

Somehow my starting setup pretty nailed it, and the first image above was just the second image I took. Having used the smoke machine on several occasions since, with varying degrees of success, I think I was probably just lucky with where I placed it first time.

The blue tones in the image are all created in post using Lightroom and Photoshop (with the assistance of the Infinite Colour Panel from Infinite Tools). The final image in the set above shows the retouched image without the final colour grading (other than a slight hint of blue I added in Lightroom before I started retouching the image).

This was my first time using the fog machine and I absolutely love it. It produces plenty of fog with just a few presses of the remote, and has a quick heat up rate.

Over on my "All Access" Tier I will be posting more images from this set, where we altered the lighting to achieve a different effect.
