Lmao yea I won’t spoil anything but I think they wanted to fill in gaps that they didn’t in the manga especially with fights and people who have conquerors like zoro and kid because a lot people who read the manga even tho it was revealed people doubted it so now we have proof lol

i do not understand why you are complaining about Luffy defeating Kaido. lately lots of people complain that main characters always defeats the opponent (like Goku even though it's HIS story and others like Vegeta are side characters) but in this case the main character wants to become the pirate king so him defeating OTHER opponents who also want to become pirate king makes the most sense why should it be anyone else?

I love how Sanji was among those who were talking smack about Luffy, saying that he was going to make things worse, but if he was there with them he would definitely be causing a ruckus right along with them, possibly even as the main instigator. The spilling of the red bean soup? Throwing it on each other and talking about throwing out the meat that had got some on it? That would have set Sanji off INSTANTLY, because there's one fact that we know about him is that he HATES it when people waste food and has no problem beating table manners into anyone who dares. So yeah, it's probably best that Sanji didn't go chasing after Luffy and Zorro or else things would have went south much sooner.

I'd like to point out that ever since Dressrosa, Luffy has never really taken out a big bad on his own. Doffy was defeated through a combined effort and despite how Doffy shrugged it off it was clear Law did a number on him which helped Luffy out a lot. On Whole Cake Island he could only run from Big Mom and with a handicap only tied with Katakuri. Luffy has a lot of Allies to help him once again. I actually do like the current pacing. The anime is fleshing out the Raid more than the manga has but I find it nice since I feel like they glossed over a lot of things. I hope we get more extra scenes along the way.
